so which ever team signs him that big fat $150 million dollar contract, he'll only be good for 2 years and then he's gonna decline fast after 32

Will he still be good by then? Can Miami Get him?

I think his game will actually age well. I'd give him 4 years before we see serious decline.

Dwight maybe, but I feel LeBron will be full value for his fat contract, as he will adapt his game. I'm no LeBron stan but let's not kid oursleves that he is not one of the best to ever play this game.

His game doesn't really rely on athleticism though

LeBrons game relies on athleticism more than any other aspect.

It's not as easy as just "adapting" your game when you get older.

Melo will age better but overall he's not a guy I'd throw a max at. Chicago could probably spend their money better. IDK though, A Melo/Rose/Noah trio would probably destroy the East next year if healthy.

Melo's game will age better than Lebron's. I'm not saying Lebron won't still be a good player but he relies more on athleticism than Melo.
Melo will have 3 or 4 good years before decline.

Melo dunks like twice a year and we are concerned about his game deteriorating?

Melo is a deadly catch and shoot player. Match him with a good drive and dish guard and he will be unstoppable.

It doesn't, but my only concern is his conditioning. Guys like Kobe, MJ, and other guards who played at an elite level well into their 30s were big on conditioning. That's never been Melo.

This is true.

Think the gap between LeBron and Melo is vast enough though that even as Bron's athleticism fades, he'll still be more impactful on the court than Melo.

Melo shouldn't fall off that much offensively. He'll just have to direct more of his possessions to the post, and spotting up. Defensively though, he's going to suck once he loses a step; he doesn't exactly have great defensive instincts, so becoming slower will hurt a lot.

Dwight? Lol, once Dwight's athleticism is gone, the Rockets are ****ed.

Dirk is killin it at 36. I think Melo will be at least a solid player when he's 35.

There is no quality here. I won't respond to anything Knick-related anymore, unless it's on the Knick's forum page. Too many dickheads in here.

It's almost ALL troll bait now. Sad...

I think that after Melo signs this next contract he will add about 40-60 pounds of fat and become a full time power forward/center.

How hilarious would this board be, with Melo getting a ring next year while the chosen gone fishing with his "check my stats" shirt.

I wonder if the Knicks are stupid enough to give Melo a fat contract and Melo is stupid enough to accepted it.

Somebody that sees the truth. Ive been saying for awhile that all Melo needs is a good pg. When Billups was in that Nuggets team he had his best year.

Lmao at Blueandorange. The Chosen One is a back to back NBA Champion, and soon to be 3x NBA champion after this season. Melo had a better casts than Cleveland LeBron, but he still failed to lead his team into the playoffs. Put Lebron with the Knicks, and they could have been be a top 3 team in the east.

Melo's best years are ahead of him still. I wish he would high wth the Mavs, get into a winning organization, allow Dirk to shift into a 3rd option role, and eventually take over the organization when Dirk retires.

Doubt it happens but it would be great and Dallas has the cap room to make it happen thin summer...with ease.

as much as a lebron homer as you are, this shit is actually partially true. I can see lebron turning JR into at least a capable player.
top 3 seed?probably not. But they will at least get in over the ****ing hawks

If Melo wants to return for less than max so that the Knicks can afford other players, I'm all for him coming back. But if he wants to get paid 25 mill than he can go. They can tank without him, don't need him for the tankjob.
