View Full Version : Why is Jordans 4 quarter scoring record lower than kobes 3 quarter record?

kennethgriffin

jordan never scored more than 61 points through 4 quarters

in the 69 point game he had 61 at the end of regulation

the 63 point game was double overtime ( he only had 54 points at the end of regulation )

he had 61 against the hawks in regulation

and another 61 in overtime

how is it kobe bryant managed to drop 62 ( MORE THAN MJ EVER DID ) in 1 quarter less of basketball ( OUTSCORING THE WCF CHAMPS )

whats even more absurd is kobe managed 81 without overtime... 20 points above MJ's record

Sidekick equation:

FMVP Count divided by number of Rings. If the answer is less than .5, you are a sidekick

Kobe: 2/5= .4 = Sidekick
Jodan: 6/6 = 1 = Alpha male

how did a sidekick manage to do in 3 quarters what MJ never did in 4 quarters?

kenneth is right

even turrible scorer like Bran equaled MJ's career high in regulation

So Wilt > Kobe? IBTL

That's because Kobe was given 25 FT's in those 3 quarters. When Jordan was given that same amount he had 58 in 3 quarters in his 2nd full season.

Corey Brewer dropped 50 points a few days ago. What does that mean? Nothing.

If MJ really wanted to and just went all out he could have dropped 70+. Nobody could guard him.

because Jordan was marketing hype and a rigging campaign by the NBA officials to make him a superstar

Jordan was a glorified Corey Benjamin

lol put kobe or 25% less of a man MJ in the 60's and they both drop 120 on multiple occasions.. kobe sitting the 4th in one of them

jordan needing OT in both .. but none the less.. the job would be done

Jordan was too busy being DPOY. Jordan dropped over 60 on the stacked celtics in the playoffs. Kobe's 81 is on the raptors in the regular season

What is wrong with OP? Dude has been having a meltdown all day! Doesn't he understand that the more he tries to keep Kobe relevant, the more irrelevant he actually becomes? :facepalm :lol

Why did Kobe have to miss over half the shots he's taken over the course of his career?

actually it was 54.. he needed double overtime to get those 9 more points

and it was in a loss

sorry

and jordan had 14 other years he wasnt DPOTY to get more than kobes 3 quarter record in regulation.. but failed

and kobes tied with mj for 1st team all defenses.. and was a legit 1st team defender with no argument the years he did all that damage offensively

cause he took 3000 more three pointers than MJ?

if like MJ kobe had limitations for most of his career and instead tried to drive those 3000 times... then his % would be 50%+

but the real funny thing about it is... jordan himself missed more than half the shots he took in his career aswell

hes at 49%.. and he took 3000 less threes.. yet still couldnt get it done

Ok so we can agree that Kobe is better at scoring absurd amounts in meaningless season games. 6FMVPs > 2 Deal with it

duncan has 1 more finals mvp.. so does shaq.. and kobe won every single player of the decade/generation award

kareem has less finals mvps than magic. yet kareem is routinely ranked higher all time

russell has none and hes arguable goat

i'l take the 2 fmvps with a bottom 5 all time sidekick pau gasol over 6 fmvps with legendary scottie pippen ( top 5 all time sidekick ) as his wingman for all of them

Yep, and both Duncan and Shaq >>>> Kobe the sidekick

If you can't figure out why this is, you must've started watching last year

Why are you guys actually arguing with this dude? This has to be one of the worst threads I've ever seen on here....I thought the OP was a good poster at one point? Now he's just trolling all the time about Kobe...

Kobe got hot from 3pt land. Kobe is an inefficient scorer, with poor shot selection.

Jordan was not a 3pt shot jacker. He was an efficient scorer, who had good shot selection.

The result?

Jordan has sustained GOAT scoring, while Kobe has very low valleys and a couple of very high peaks when his shot jacking actually is "on". So, while Kobe has an 81 pt game in the regular season vs the worst defense in the league, Jordan has 10 scoring titles.

Shooting 31 times and shooting 25 free throws in three quarters??? More free throws than MJ did with overtime :confusedshrug:

Why did Jordan?
Because guards are overrated

Because he never got the chance to play in the no touching, 3 sec violation era.

Tell me this- how many 50+ point games did Bean have before the rule changes in the summer of '05 as compared to after? :confusedshrug:

Cause Jordan saved his best for the playoffs while Kobe became a 41% 6'6 chucker in the playoffs?
