I have to say yes(i'm objective)
Messi is coasting/not motivated, Ronaldo has injury problems.
I knew he would be great when i saw him against Inter in 2010. Capello called him the best player in the world after a that game and everybody laughed.

Are you judging this off one game?
Anyone following the whole season knows its Ronaldo.. Bale would be the first to tell you that.

bale would still be top 5 if CR wasnt on his team
but one great game ( which isnt even great compared to his spurs days last season) wouldnt make him the best player.. maybe if he plays like this against bayern's fullbacks in the semis and win the CL while being the best madrid player.. they maybe he will have a case.. but running past one of the slowest defenders in bartra? meh

You know you're not objective when you have to put "im objective" in parentheses. :lol

Not against the big teams.
Bale has performed against every big team in England + Barcelona, Inter, Juventus.

He's starting to earn his keep but I'm not ready to place him above the big 2 yet. Superb talent nevertheless though...

yeah, he definitely showed his class in the second leg against Dortmund ... not. Being vastly outplayed by Marco Reus.

The whole team played bad that game.
Please dont compare Reus to Sir Gareth Bale.

I don't think he is the best this year. Top 5 for sure. I don't know where to put Messi. He would be top 3 but we can name guys better than him.
CR
Ibra
Suarez
Bale
He's pretty good. One of the best players at Madrid a long with Di Maria, Modric, Xabi and Ramos. Not really better than any of them, not really worse.

I know people are overreacting because of this amazing goal but Bale had some monster runs this year that flew under the radar. I posted a few gifs this year in the soccer thread. If you watch RM games you would know he's had a lot of runs.
Not surprise watching that goal tonight. I knew he was going to score after the 1st touch.

Coz he plays for a small club in a shitty league.
If he goes to Barcelona or a PL club and becomes a star... Then maybe.

dortmund are not a small club by any means
much bigger than tottenham are, and yet bale was a top 5 player last season, no doubt. he joins real and only shows flashes of the past season, like yesterday..
reus is in great form, he outplayed every real and bayern player in the last couple of weeks.. one to watch in the WC for sure

Tottenham are bigger than Dortmund.
Bigger and much more glamorous city, bigger market, more attention etc.
If Reus joins Man U this summer he will be a massive star. He will never be a star if he keeps playing for Dortmund.

Is Reus even a starter for Germany?

Tottenham bigger than Dortmund?
Dortmund:
- best stadium in the world (as voted by an English newspaper)
- arguably best fan base in the world (selling out 80k+ every game)
- 5 league titles in last 20 years
- 1 time CL winner, 1 time runner up
Tottenham:
- ?????

Lets compare their fanbases. Spurs are way bigger.
They play in a bigger and more glamorous city. It's like comparing Bucks and Knicks brah.

I don't have any numbers to back it up but I would also say Tottenham is a bigger club. The EPL is a much bigger and more well known league.
