Lel. No. Theres a reason nannies arent paid that much.
yeah it's the same reason construction workers aren't paid that much...they lack other skills

I'm a father, and my day job is a fckin beach vacation compared to taking care of my son...I love him more than anything in the world but he is HARD FCKIN WORK.

if you don't think parenting is hard work then you're either not a parent or you're a bad parent, one or the other

Word, feel the same.

But being a parent is not a though thing, almost everyone can become a parent, the hard part is to be a good parent.

I just saw that video and it pissed me off. Don't put it on me if you wanna have a kid. You shouldn't complain being a parent is a burden if you CHOSE to become one. Is it hard work? Fck yes it is! But it's a completely separate category than a job. One is a necessity to live and one is not. That said, respect for parents who parent well.

The point of the video wasn't to show other people how hard being a mother is.

It was for Mother's Day. So it is supposed to show our mothers how much we appreciate their work.

I mean, we got coal workers dying from black lungs and guys drilling into the earth literally shaking hands with the devil, but nah, mothers have it tougher because they have to stand on their feet and bend over to put a DVD into the DVD player.

I think that was actually THE point of the video. Hence doing a job interview, describing how tough the job is (with BS) and then tell them it's actually a mother. Plus including the hashtag #WorldsToughestJob in the title.

The funniest part is how obviously set up it is.

Description should be like. "24 people with an HD webcam and in an optimal lighting environment interview for the worlds toughest position. Turns out to be some marketing campaign trying to go viral and none of them are upset over the wasted time."

Or some shit like that.

Americans are too easy. Funny how they fall for the most blatant attempts to pull on their heart strings without analyzing the situation at all.

being a good parent is definitely hard
But it's a natural instinct for a lot of people...

How can taking care of your own blood be considered 'hard' especially compared to some desk job that you hate.

Being a stay at home mom is one of the EASIEST 'jobs' in the world. Would be fun as hell to stay home with your kids while daddy is busting his ass at work and paying all the bills.

But I feed, clothe, and clean my kids doe... I deserve a ribbon.

Being a mother during years 1& 2 is definitely one of the hardest jobs there is, there is no break for them, not even to sleep, baby wakes up crying every other hour, and they have breast feed.

Then they have to watch over the kids all day on no sleep, unable to even leave the child alone for a minute because they are on a constant suicide mission. They can not choose when they want to sleep, they are forced to sleep when the baby lets them.

Their nipples are about to fall off and are so sore they go numb after a few months. Then most women suffer mild forms of postpartum depression. And on top of that most mothers deal with dead beat father or just no father to help.

Me and my wife plan on having one more child but we both dread the insane levels of work that have to be put in.

I found the infant stages not so bad. It's when the kids go to school is when the work gets extremely difficult. Inserting you children into your timeline is where parenting gets toughest. You're in for a rude awakening my friend

I wasn't a fan of the video. I saw it coming from the title alone. It just seemed so forced. "If you had a life, we'd ask you to sort of give that up." "No time to sleep." They are acting that you can't have a life. They are also saying you have no time to sleep, but although you have less sleep, people do sleep. And finally, what about stay at home or single dads?

I'm not there yet but literally every parent I have talked to on this subject has told me "don't worry, it gets easier"... You're the first to say the opposite

I can't wait foot my son to just start talking... Lol, that alone would take work away, right now he has to have eyes on him at all times, have my whole house rigged with cameras lol

And if he is in a school? That means someone else is watching him.

So would you rather have a social life or 3 healthy kids?

You can't have it all dude. Sacrificing a little bit of your social life for parenthood is nothing in the grand scheme.

I would rather have healthy kids, I knew what I was getting into.

I don't think most people really understand the extent of it though until they go through it themselves.

Simple shit, like watching a game, eating a meal, or just making a phone call can become a challenge at times.

Hell just leaving the house is a challenge... People without kids can hop in their car anytime they want and go anywhere, freedom yay! lol... People with kids, infants in particular, can be restricted from simple things like that.

It was just another thing for affluent people to pat themselves on th back about how hard their life is and how they are great people. Lame.

The whole "being a mom is so hard" shtick strikes me as a way to patronize women while letting them know that they should be content with home life because it is their real job.

No it definitely is NOT the hardest job in the world. But I thank my mum every single day for raising me up the way she did. The video shows how much our parents put into raising us up to be the way we are. It asks us to appreciate, not to judge.

lol what is this bullshit? No sleep? Less sleep is not no sleep.

Unable to leave the child alone for a minute lol wtf? Ever heard of a playpen? Or a swing? If you're alone with the kid and need to do something, you can leave them in there for twenty minutes, then you have time to wash the dishes, take a shower, rest for 20 minutes, or whatever. Or put the kid in the crib for twenty minutes to take a rest.

They are forced to sleep when the baby sleeps? I thought you said they get no sleep? Grandparents/ friends usually help with babies too, so there's even more time that the mother gets to rest.

Most mothers deal with deadbeat fathers? You're telling me over 50 % of children in the United States don't know their fathers because they are deadbeats? That number sounds way too high. Once again it sounds like you're just making bullshit up.

In America, if the husband makes enough money for the mom to stay home full time then odds are that they are pretty well off and live a comfortable life. I'm not saying that people shouldn't make moms feel good but there are undertones to the commercial that I don't care for.

That isn't true anymore, it isn't the 50s

Most homes have 2 working parents or just one parent

The video was created to make mothers feel good as well as make people understand how hard it is to be a mother, it's a great message.

Question, are you a parent?

You think it's a good idea to just throw a child in a playpen unattended for any decent amount of time?

Grandparents almost ALWAYS help because if they didn't the parents would never leave the house.

And yes there are a lot of father's out there that expect the mother to do the bulk of the work like change diapers, or clean bottles, etc... They view it as a mother thing and not a parent thing.
