How great is our gawd? Thank your lord mamba for the playoffs. We will pray for the sins of the league.

Not nearly as fun without him...the debates here I so great when Kobe is in the playoffs.

Really hope he comes back and is good next year...going to be so much fun.

God I'd love to see him get on a good team somehow these last couple years and just go off in the playoffs..

So in other words, you're an incredibly transparent, bandwagoning casual fan who has no place on an online basketball forum, and whose opinion means absolutely nothing. Thanks for the revelation.

Aside from his weird looking feet, Lebron isn't that ugly. Get some tequila in me and I'd pounce.

Stop this bullshit.

Kobe did this to himself. Had he not been a chucker and made sacrafices to his stats like EVERY star player on a stacked team has in SOME way, he wouldn't have HAD to play 48MPG and tear his ach in attempt to make the playoffs.
You know he averaged nearly 8 assists a game for the last 3 months of the season, right?

Seriously. Nash was a shell, no perimeter defense (though Kobe was atrocious on that end), Gasol a shell of what he used to be while also being injured. Dwight was injured, and never lived up to the hype. Was passive aggressive all season to be spiteful, though partially due to Kobe's alienating comments to start the season.

QFT! Are Howard, Gasol, Meeks, and Nash really such horrible players that the Lakers would get blown off the floor if Kobe wasn't playing all 48 minutes? Only reason Kobe played all those minutes is because he wanted ALL the credit for the Lakers making the playoffs.

Agreed. Kobe definitely had his selfish moments that season, and his struggles to balance scoring/facilitating was a bit on display, but the people blaming that Laker team's failures on Kobe "chucking" and indirectly absolving the rest of the team clearly didn't watch the games. They were a mess from top to bottom, including the coaching staff. If we look purely at names, yeah Nash-Kobe-Metta-Pau-Dwight sounds fantastic. But when one of those guys is nearing (at the time) 40 years old, one is constantly dealing with nagging injuries, one who wasn't that good to begin with but had knee problems (Metta), and one who was clearly a shell of himself from back surgery and had his heart set for other teams...it's a recipe for failure. And it's even worse when your beloved, legendary owner dies mid-season, your coach blatantly does not give a shit about defense, and basically the whole roster was set on not playing as hard as possible.

A shell of himself, yet his numbers were right on par with his career averages. :oldlol: Let's be real, Laker fans were expecting him to be Shaq, but were disappointed when they discovered that he was only Dwight. As for having his heart set on other teams, I don't agree. Right after being traded to the Lakers he called the trade "a dream come true." Yet by the end of the season, he gave up 30 million in guaranteed money to sign with Houston! I wonder what changed. It's not like Kobe has a history of not getting along with star players or anything. :coleman:

This post doesn't even warrant a drawn out rebuttal, so I'll keep it short.

If you're seriously refuting the claim that Dwight was a shell of himself on the basis that his averages were "right on par with his career averages", you clearly didn't watch the games.

Howard gets a lot of unfounded "hate" for last year...he still played excellent defense and he battled through the year playing in 76 games.

The team around Howard literally gave no effort defensively at all...perhaps they took their cue from Kobe in that regard...who didn't even fake trying on defense last year.

No doubt Howard was not his normal self, but even not being his normal self he's still a top 10 or so player in the league.
