View Full Version : Pacers have some huge decisions coming..

This team looks like the dislike each other so much.. That playing elite basketball now is impossible... They might get it together and make it out of the first round.. But let's face it they are not capable of winning the chip this year.. The chemistry is completely gone and I'm sure a lot of this had started in the locker room.. If these issues could have been fixed.. They would have by now.. It looks impossible to get this version of the pacers back on track..
So now the question is what should they do...once this season draws to a close.. Which may be soon.. The pacers really need to isolate the source of these locker room issues... It could be paul George.. It could be hibbert.. Lance or hill... It may even be more than one of them...
So should the pacers make some trades to remove these problems.. And if they trade any of those players.. They probably have good value.. Or great value in a trade.. I feel if they make the right trade or two.. They can reset this team to compete next year...
If they stand still and do nothing... I think there is a serious risk that some of these players walk given the first chance they get..
The problem I feel George May be the major source of these issues.. And if that's the case do Indiana trade away there franchise player??
Damn don't envy being bird right now.. This team was so close.. Now they couldn't be more far away... And if he doesn't make the right decision.. This team will fall apart completely

Eh... I think their problem started before the Granger trade.

Celtics are in rebuild
true and false, celtcis isnt trading rondo unless its for younger stars. Green is young and is part of the rebuild. With a top pick coming in, and a core of rondo/green/sully celtics are looking at a bright future. Why do they need turner or hibbert scrubs anyway?

a veteran presence wouldnt let a whole team just crash. doesnt have to be D granger, a respected guy like fisher (scrub but hey) would do them wonders.

Isn't Turner a one year contract? Celtics have already tried to get rid of Rondo anyway

David West isn't a veteran now??
Granger trade definitely didn't do the chemistry any favors but it's deeper than that, they are just so bad on offense right now it's affecting their defense.

he is, but its not working. pacers should NOT lose to the hawks at home no matter what.

He's not the same type of leader...West is not the in the locker room, you can come talk to me about anything type of leader...he's more of an on the court, keep your focus leader...Granger was a player that PG and others could actually go to about basketball strategy, how to defend certain players, etc.
If they get knocked out in the first round, or really anything short of a hard fought 7 game series against Miami, Vogel might need to go. Its his system, its his fault...
This team is NOT devoid of good offensive players...Paul George, David West, Lance Stephenson, CJ Watson, Scola, Copeland, George Hill, Even Turner are ALL capable of scoring...None of them are Jordan but none of them are f*cking Joel Anthony either....Vogel's offense sucks and has sucked for the past 2 years....I've BEEN saying this, his system sucks, PERIOD. His style worked when they were up and comers...Now that they're expected to do things, his style might not work...They need someone now who can actually discipline players, pull them out when they dumb sh*t and run AN ACTUAL OFFENSE...

Just hire an offensive coordinator . At one point in the season this was the best team in the league due to Vogel's system. You cant blame Vogel for the pathetic performance of Roy Hibbert and Paul George. Who were voted All stars.

No, they were the best team in the league because of DEFENSE...Roy Hibbert made the all-star team because of DEFENSE...Paul George, same thing...He would have still been an all-star even if he wasn't putting up godly numbers...He just would've needed to put up decent numbers and elite defense and he would still have been an all-star...Its always about defense first with this team. They were where they were last year because of defense....When a team has a sh*t offense even though they don't have sh*tty offensive players, that is the coaches fault 9/10 times....They have coordinators and they're all defensive minded too, guys like Popeye Jones for instance who watched film with Hibbert the other day...What is Popeye Jones going to teach Roy about offense?

I think that unless they make the finals vogel is as good as gone. They need a great coach to clear all the problems.

i agree with you completely. i'm sorry to say this but i was rooting for the pacers up until their meltdown against the hawks last night. they cant even take advantage of home court advantage, they are just not the same. i wanted them to make it to the finals (i was born in indianapolis) but they just wont make it at this rate. here's hoping that they turn it around but i have been very critical of vogel's ball-stopping offense from the beginning, either way, the pacers need to get back to learning how to defend all over again apparently.
This isn't a locker room thing anymore. This is about their offense as well. It's terrible but they've always been known for defense. Who's running the offense now? Their not delivering. This is going to be huge and I wish the knicks could of been on the other side of the grass because it's greener this year. Hawks can definitely upset.
