Why 2 Days Between Games?

TV schedule reasons, I think.

Saturdays and Sundays are great because they can do 12:30 / 3:30 / 700 or 730 / 10 rotation.
Each game gets its own time slot.

M-F schedules are usually 7, 7:30 or 8 and then a 9:30, 10 or 10:30 game. Two games will get its own time slot.
A third and fourth game will get mixed in, which makes fans have to choose which games to watch and I don't think they like that.

I think its because some nights are historically better for TV ratings.

I have heard for some reason thursday tends to have high tv ratings

At least there are still 2 games. I think most people have work or school anyways and wouldn't be able to watch earlier games.

i miss the good ole days when they would sometimes play back to backs. now its AT LEAST one day in between, sometimes two, and sometimes even three. it makes the playoffs stretch out to about three months which is insane. it also didnt help things when they changed the first round to a best of 7 instead of a best of 5.

I like it, and wish they would remove all back to backs during the regular season (fewer games, but, more entertaining than watching tired teams, imo), since there are none during the playoffs.

I don't mind the 2 games a night thing, the only time it gets unbearable is when one of the series is over and the only game on that night is a series I have no interest watching. But yeah, 1st round is a long process and it takes forever to finish because there are 8 series they are trying to hype. They wanna sell me on that Heat-Bobcat series? :facepalm

Luckily for us all, none of the Eastern conference matchups are worth watching in this first round so you only need to watch 2 games at most.
