It's too bad the NBA rigged the playoffs so his team couldn't go to the Finals in 02

I had heard it sort of implied in a few podcasts that he has some personal issues that may have been the impetus for this, but it was never spelled out explicitly what those things were.

His horn double high post offense was a thing of beauty at it's best. A coach that really embraced ball and player movement and spacing on offense. Even his bad teams were watchable.

I'd love to see him take a college gig at some smaller school down the road.

After missing the playoffs for the third straight season, and with a wife who is being treated for seizure disorders, Adelman decided it was time to walk away from one of the most quietly influential coaching careers in NBA history.

I guess that's it then.

We have a dog at work with a seizure disorder. I wouldn't wish that on the worst person in the world. It's awfull.

That linked article was really nice actually. Really nice stuff from Doc Rivers, Pop, Spoelstra, about just how influencial the guy was.

Doc mentions winning a game in Boston with a play they just flat out called Adelman.

No doubt Adelman influenced a young Spoelstra growing up in Portland. Horns and that elbow action has been a main staple of Miami's offense since Spo took over.

I love Rick Adelman's career but he was a corpse this season. Sad to see him go but it was time. Amazing achievement getting all those victories.

Nothin but praise for this man.

One of the most underrated coaches of all time in the NBA.

His run with the Sacramento Kings was amazing, screwed out of a certain chip.

Wish him all the best.

Poor NBA. Made the Queens miss all those free throws & made C-Webb turn his back on Robert Horry :oldlol:

Missed 14 FTs in Game 7 :facepalm

Kobe the clutch gawd, ice cold FTs in a Game 7 on the road with the 3-peat on the line

Peja airballed a WIDE OPEN three down 1 with less than 15 seconds to go in regulation :facepalm

Kings played like shit in crunch time, refs can't make you airball wide open corner threes.
