That call changed the game and all there is is a statement. Okay.
Where is the statement on the other 35 blown calls in that game? Including plays immediately before that one?

Damn. This plus the no-call when CP3 was fouled isn't a good look for the playoffs. People on this board detest both of them, so there won't be many complaints.

Which ones? Houston got shafted more than POR.

NBA is only hurting its image with these statements. There are calls missed every game, and the NBA highlighting them isn't going to change anything.

They should just reboot the whole damn playoffs.

Really? It went both ways, and Harden was getting bailed out by the refs.
Which ones? Houston got shafted more than POR.
Dwight 4 steps that they called a foul on Lopez. Dwight hitting Lopez in the stomach with a backhand and refs calling a T on Lopez for it. Garcia shuffling his feet to move about 2 feet in the paint before being fouled. Dwight using his forearm to throw Freeland to the ground (NBA I guess thought that is a legit box out). Harden getting imaginary fouls late. Just to name a few. The whole game was reffed terribly both ways.

To be fair, that foul was called literally on the wrong player, Freeland hit two free throws... and you guys won by 2. Not excusing the horrible officiating on both sides, but usually a blown call doesn't so clearly "decide" the outocme.
So basically Houston should have won. :oldlol: Great job NBA. http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

Beverley fouling out on an and-1 where he didn't touch Lillard. Aldridge getting another and-1 with no contact in OT. Beverley getting a tech for running to the scorer's table. Dwight fouling out when Freeland was holding him. Plus the foul on Dwight's travel was legit, it was just on the wrong player. (Should have been on Lillard.) Houston getting no calls in the 1st half. Overall in OT Houston was the one who got shafted more.

Freeland made 1 and won by 2. And that immediately after 4 unwarranted free throws for the Rockets (which they made 2). Harden freezing is what lost the game. Dwight threw Freeland down with his forearm, then was fouled by the Blazers. He made won, missed the 2nd, Garcia got the rebound, shuffled his feet moving from near the the free throw line to the middle of the key without a single dribble before getting fouled and being put on the line where he missed 1 again.

Howard goes to the line and misses 1 out 2 FTs (or even worse, bricks both) and then Lillard hits a game winning shot anyway.

I agree with what you're saying. Especially that Dwight travel that got Lopez out of the game was just....
I'm just saying the Dwight/Freeland foul call was very high profile and the replay showed that it was all Freeland on that particular instance.
Also, the fact that a scrub fouled Dwight. Just like when Draymond fouled CP3, so they had to issue an "apology". If LMA fouled Dwight, or Curry fould CP3, there would likely be no "missed call apology".
They only say sorry when a scrub fouls a star.

Not calling a foul on Dwight when he was offensive rebounding on a missed FT and then got to the line himself after a Batum foul.

Freeland got outmuscled :confusedshrug:
Dwight getting to the line on that play benefited POR also because he ended up missing one.

Wouldn't have helped Smook, the refs were giving Houston so many chances to win it, they just couldn't get it done.

All Dwight had to do was grab a defensive rebound after that missed 3 but Damian Lillard has more heart and wanted it more. Hell Dwight even had another chance to end it on that same play but LMA had more heart and wanted it more.

Dwight reached around him and pulled his body down by the shoulders and chest. The correct call would have been a foul.

Just chalk up the loss and move onto game 2, if Harden facilitates a bit more they can win this.

Howard had 2 chances to grab the game winning rebound and got out worked by a superior player in LMA :lol

i kno u have never played basketball but guards have to box out too. i can't remember who it was, but whoever didn't box out their man lead to a rebound from lillard which turned into a rebound for LMA.

Yeah, I completely agree that call was bad. No argument about that aspect from me.
And so true about apologies for scrubs. What I want to see happen that has yet to occur is the NBA apologizing for phantom calls on stars.

Howard had actually gone 6-6 on FTs in OT IIRC. The calls could be summoned up as 'both team getting ticky-tacky fouls, with Harden getting more because he's Harden, but a couple of other calls were called on the wrong people'. There should've been two corrections, one was there Lopez fouled out, at best it was a Howard travel, at worst, a Lillard foul from the back. Plus this Howard one.

They are only selectively admitting mistakes and it is for the teams that we are assuming that they are favoring regardless. It's as if they are just using this to put more pressure on the officials to favor those teams.
Houston got favored an assload in that game, particularly down the stretch and yet the league only sees it fit to admit the ONE call that actually went against them late in the game. Disgusting.

Yeah, Like Lopez getting his sixth foul for being near Howard, or Lopez getting his first technical for getting elbowed by Howard and not reacting, or the play before this one when Howard THREW FREELAND TO THE GROUND and the refs said that Freeland fouled him.

Refs were bad on both sides. I just hate when they come out the next day with a stupid apology.
Just replay the call and overturn it during the game.
Saying you ****ed up a day after doesn't help anybody. NBA refs are booty
