Buy the ones that can float in water. Heard they're pretty good.

This is the boat I got last year..

Good thinking. Hopefully global warming will raise water levels enough to engulf Texas and give Oklahoma some beach front property!

I've always heard the two best days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. :lol

Still. Just bought a pickup. Need something to pull. :applause:

me and 2 of my friends found a boat in pretty bad shape a few years ago it's an 18' it kind of resembles this http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/attachments/boat-building/68853d1332893324-70s-tri-hull-repair-img_20110615_204533.jpg we put a lot of money into it bought it a trailer and a motor re fiberglassed the whole deck and painted it, this was about 5 years ago we haven't taken it out on the river in about 3 years now were looking to sell it so we can turn our jonboat into a nice bass boat since we do more bass fishing than river/striper fishing. also stay away from tri hull like mine because of the shape of the boat when it's choppy on the water we get soaked.

That doesn't look to have the level of comfort I'm looking for. (then again I don't know shit about boats :lol )

I'd really like to find one like this:

I like that ability to get up front or in the back.

Seems like for a 18-19 footer, you start getting closer to $5,000.

no problem and be careful out there open water is no joke sounds like you don't have much experience with boats or out on the water. make sure you go over your boat and all of your equipment(raido, depthfinder, ropes, anchor) and check the weather report before you go out. boating is fun but it's a lot more work than most people think.

Total novice. Been on the water probably 5 times in my life.

Lots of reading/networking to do. Gotta make it happen though. :applause:

No way man. I grew up in Michigan and everyone has a boat. Never heard anyone complain. My dad and step dad have had multiple boats since I was a kid and I never remember them complaining about them.

eh i grew up on the great lakes too. Plenty of boat owners complain, but they are very damn popular.

it's always 1,000x better to rent a boat for a day.

Is it on the boat where your dad took your v-card and then combed your long blonde hair? No wonder you have fond memories of that, queer-ass.
