Heat go 66-16 with a "stacked" team including a 27 game winning streak Spo doesn't get coach of the year.

Pop goes 62-20 with a stacked team although he's done it before and gets coach of the year.

Got it. Awards a joke.

First time since the ABA merged with the NBA that no player has averaged more than 30 minutes per game (Parker - 29.4 mpg, Duncan - 29.2 mpg, etc.) ... in other words, Pop is a genius at managing minutes considering how successful they were in the RS.

Everyone on the Spurs roster played less than 30 minutes a game. 19 different players were used in the season. Only 3 players played more than 75 games (NOT Duncan, Parker, Ginobili or Leonard). Historically stacked Western Conference and still ran away with the best record in the West and league.

Nuggets won 59 in a tougher conference without Lebron James. Cant argue with the selection. Spo had a case too but coaches without a dominant star usually get favored. None of Pops all star players were over 30 minutes this year and they led the league in wins. What more do you want??

Are we gonna act like the Heat were deeper than the Spurs this year? Aside from the big 3 and maybe Ray Allen\Chris Anderson, nobody else on that Heat team would even sniff playing time for the Spurs this year.

The Heat went 25-5 against the "tougher conference" last year. Denver went 57-25 not 59-23.

Wade missed 12 games and was on a time management program as well.

They finished the season going 36-2, and on the second best win streak of all time.

Nobody is taking Pops greatness from him, but if he deserves COTY because of the best record, then not giving it to Spo last year was a joke.

Games missed:

Duncan 8
Parker 14
Leonard 16
Green 14
Manu 14
Splitter 23

Top 6 guys: 161 games missed, no one on the team averaging more than 29.4 minutes and still had the best record in the league running away.

What, I'm supposed to pity the Heat because Wade missed 12 games while they have the best player in the league playing 38 minutes per game. Lol.

Best coach in NBA history.

How the **** are the Spurs "stacked" when utter scrubs like Cory Joseph and Jeff Ayres started 19 games and 10 games respectively. Pop even started players from the D League and guys signed to a 10 day contract that were later cut. And they still ran away with the best record in the league. Let's see Spoelstra do that without having the best player in the league and 3 all stars carrying a heavy load.

The only reason the Spurs looked "stacked" is because Pop has taken previously mediocre role players from other teams and made them into an elite winning machine. Belinelli, Diaw, Green, Mills, these guys owe their success this year to Pop's system.

I think if the suns would have made the playoffs, Hornacek would have received this award. I ain't even mad tho, Pop is more than deserving.

I definitely think he would have too. Even after missing the playoffs, he still finished a somewhat close second in the voting, and way ahead of Thibs in 3rd.

"Popovich tallied 59 first-place votes and 380 points in balloting among sportswriters and broadcasters, finishing just ahead of Phoenix Suns coach Jeff Hornacek, who had 339 points (37 first-place votes).

Chicago's Tom Thibodeau (159 points), Charlotte's Steve Clifford (127) and Toronto's Dwane Casey (70) rounded out the top five."

Pop would literally push 75 wins with that Miami roster. Spo would get knocked out of the first, maybe second round with the Spurs.

You need superb talent throughout your roster to be stacked. The Spurs have guys who just play well as a team.
