Will they tear down the team with the exception of a few key players?

Make minor adjustments?

Keep the same squad?

They have to get rid of Hibbert.

Unfortunately they just signed him to a max deal.

Win lose or draw they've got a serious decision to make on Lance Stephenson. And it's even trickier now with Evan Turner around and signed for another year.

I think they'd secretly like to get rid of Hibbert. But that just seems like it's going to be really difficult at the years and money he's owed vs. his production. And I don't think he's a bad player in a vaccuum. Certainly you'd wish he'd rebound better. I'm not as down on him offensively as most. But in the current state of the league with more teams spacing the floor and attacking with cut and off the bounce, he's just going to be too often in the way due to his style. And that's even with him not being a bad high post player and pretty good passer.

I think Turner is a free agent this summer; although they do have the option to tender a qualifying offer of $8.7 mil to make him a restricted free agent.

They have to separate PG and Hibbert and obviously PG is the one they should keep. They just can't stand each other. :oldlol: The rest they should keep.

It appears you're correct. Those qualifying offers are so rarely not taken I just sort of assumed it had already been done. By Phili even before the trade. But apparently not.

That actually makes it a little trickier, because you'd think they'd want to pick up that qualifier just to maintain the asset, use him as a trade piece, or something.

Oddly I think they were helped a bit by Paul George falling off, because IIRC the escalators that could've gone into his contract had he finished at the top of the MVP balloting would've squeezed them even further to keep Lance under the cap.

I think so. George hill is replaceable. Lance is somewhat replaceable, I see this as his peak. Paul George is not replaceable, David West is getting older, he is replaceable, and Hibbert is overrated, he is replaceable for sure. Get it done Bird.
Not sure you're serious with the bolded....I pretty much agree with your other points..I don't think PG is untouchable but he's the closest one.

Not sure where you're getting this stuff but Ill paste the same response I just gave you in the other thread where you said this..

Well Hibbert called out basically everyone except PG and West. He said PG would win MVP and he said he has free reign to do whatever he wants on the court..He's always had PG's back....But it doesn't seem like the chemistry is even half as strong as it was...

My biggest question is if Vogel will be fired or not.

IF this happens and they plan on making changes:

Keep Hibbert, West, PG

Trade Stephenson and George Hill for more explosive scorers, possibly target a sign and trade with the Lakers for Jordan Farmar, Nick Young, and Pau in S&T's.

LA might do it just to have an asset like Lance to hopefully develop into a star player.

For Indiana, they get two perimeter players that are much more explosive scorers in their backcourt. PG, West, and Hibbert is such a good defensive core that I don't think they will miss much defensively.

Pau would be amazing for the Pacers. He could back up either Hibbert or West depending on the match up. He is a better offensive player than anyone on the team currently, and he's lengthy.

Bump

If they check out mentally in game 6, there will certainly be some major changes.

I'm still amazed as to what happened to the Pacers.

Before the All-star break, everyone was convinced they would give Miami a shake, now they are a shell of that team.

Some big decisions for the management, I would look to get a true leader on that team, like a rondo to replace Hill? Something like that.

They still would. They are built for the Heat.

Unfortunately, you have to play some other teams to win a ring. :oldlol:

I see it happening. I don't see why not. This team cannot work together anymore. They've showed signs of progress by obtaining the number one seed in the east. Now, that's the highest they could of achieved. I can't see it being any better than that. They can't compete. Logically it doesn't make sense their pieces all are great on paper. They've proven to work. But this time it seems like there isn't enough juice for another run together.

Get rid of Hibbert in the offseason for a pick, and a shit expiring, trade for Asik, draft a back up SG

For lack of in-series adjustments, I think they should also consider replacing the coach. But this is just me. I just feel his faith for Roy clouds a part of his brain that spurts out sound decisions.
