He was absolutely horrible...I mean...how can someone at that level be so inept? Making calls completely out of position...missing OBVIOUS calls.

I can't comment on that...I have no idea who Coach Nick is as far as his background is concerned. I actually found this vid from another site...watched it and pretty much agreed with most of the stuff he said.

Coach Nick cherry picks a lot and self-promotes his brand a little too transparently, but this video was actually mostly spot on, one of his better ones.

usually his analysis either banks on obvious hindsight to explain why something happened or like somebody said above cherry picking plays to suit his theory. his channel is still an awesome resource to watch plays in slow motion and break them down yourself but nick himself isn't the brightest bulb.

though here he happens to be spot on. mchale had no control over his offense in the closing five minutes and it cost the rockets a 10 point lead. all the shots early in the clock and relying on iso/pnr's at the top, just terrible offense with such a big lead.

Because he's really not. Anyone who has seriously played competitive basketball at the high school or college level knows that he has no idea what he's talking about. Hell, even my dad who never played anything past pick up games knows that he's an idiot. Not to mention he cherry picks plays to fuel whatever agenda he's pushing. I wouldn't even watch him for his clips that he puts in slow motion like RidonKs said because of the fact that most of the clips are cherry picked so you aren't going to see the whole picture.

Harden being useless is a direct result of McHale. In any case, a top 5 offensive player in the NBA is not useless. But you have a coach that at best can all an iso or high pick N' roll for him. ****ing pickup game bball.


That's not the problem (from an outsider perspective). The problem is that Harden has free reign to do what he wants on O and skip playing D. Mainly the skipping defense part

Coach Nick is kind of a joke, but in this video he was pretty much spot on.

The free reign is a result of not having anything to execute. There are no goals, nowhere to go with the ball in this non-existent offense. It's either a high pick and roll, Iso, or feed Howard.

The defense part is also McHale's fault. He doesn't hold him accountable and it shows.


Serious question - do you think McHale is being "carried"? I was always met with the "Well he has the team in the 3rd/4th seed" argument when I called out his coaching. I think McHale sucks from what I know, but you guys DID do incredibly well this season.

they should have been better this season and even alst.
everyone acted like they overachieved last year when they had just as good a roster minus Dwight. they could have easily made the sixth seed if it wasnt for CoachFail and their normal late season collapse
