And according to the comments the dude got fired for being a racist....
I wouldn't even bother putting stock into any of his videos.

I'm pretty surprised that he WAS actually a coach
And according to the comments the dude got fired for being a racist....

So... he wasn't fired for being a bad coach, he was fired for being racist. How does that negate his comments on basketball?

Coach Nick's reply to racist allegations - "Those charges were from 2 years ago, and I was completely exonerated by an exhaustive investigation. The complaints were rooted in playing time, nothing more."

"You in?"
That shit makes me cringe when he interviews players and coaches, especially with D'Antoni.
"Are you in coach?"
*awkward silence*
D'Antoni: Wait, what?
Nick: Are you in on our basketball conversation?
D'Antoni: Oh, uhh..yeah, sure.

Birmingham has never been a basketball school, had a nice run of a football powerhouse, but that is about it.

Third-year coach Nick Hauselman of Lake Balboa Birmingham said Friday he has been fired with no reason given to him by school administrators. Assistant Nick Halic has taken over the program.
Athletic Director Rick Prizant said, "We can't say anything."
Hauselman said an allegation of racial bias was made against him by a parent last season. He said he was interviewed last May by officials from the Department of Education and thought the allegation had been dealt with.
sounds more like a parent got pissed at how much PT their kid was getting.

Many high school basketball programs are all about connections. Seems to me like Coach Nick benched the wrong kid. You know, his parents are probably close to the school board or the athletic director.
Doesn't matter how good of a coach you are. Piss off the wrong parents and you're done.

he knows x'a and o's, but hes such a corny dude, if i was a player i couldnt respect him
id bet thats why he got fired, because he isnt a motivator, not because of a lack of basketball knowledge.

You actually need good players to be good in HS. I cant count the number of times dudes on my HS team (even starters, mostly scrubs) cut practice. 4/5ths of these dudes are just in it for celebrity status.

he knows x'a and o's, but hes such a corny dude, if i was a player i couldnt respect himI haven't watched much of his content in my time but I buckled in and watched a 25 minute thing of his with Spencer Dinwiddie a moment ago.
From there, I have a question: does the Nick guy have any legitimate basketball playing experience to his name? It's totally cool if he doesn't, because he's clearly learned a lot over the years and knows X's and O's, and one doesn't necessarily need playing experience to educate on many factors of the game.
However, I will say that certain questions he poses and statements he makes about individual moves or abilities seems to suggest he doesn't have a great grasp on what it's like to actually play that game, and that creates a little bit of a disconnect.
For instance, he fixated on multiple occasions about Dinwiddie's right leg rising up a little on a fallaway jumper, asking about Dinwiddie's decision to do that. In truth, when shooting a shot in the manner he did, the leg's just going to rise up a little on its own, and Dinwiddie just had to keep saying, "It's natural, it just happens".
As a player, I think I might have a tough time having a guy trying to impose his will on all my precise mechanics when he doesn't seem to have the hands-on background in it himself. Then again, I haven't seen a ton of his stuff so I could be really off base - he's just hit me as someone who did a great job of marketing himself and studying plays while not necessarily being someone who's ever lived the game on the court.

Our school's basketball team was really good but never got any respect at our own school. It felt more like an after school African American studies class.

Yup these parents think there kid is an extremely hard working basketball prodigy yet all they do is play on the weekends and come home late 2 times a week from the park
One loss with the scrub on the bench and the parents are outraged

In NY there are a ton of schools without football so playing on the basketball team was elite status at school. I do agree we didnt sell out gyms or anything but everyone knew who we were and added us on Myspace
And of course when we played afterschool in the spring time at the parks near the school they knew exactly why we were on the team. It was like getting your dick sucked with compliments the ways these **** complimented me on how good I was but in reality they were all horrid defenders

I actually did play at a very high level in high school, and was a manager at Wisconsin and played with some of the players during summer pick up, so yes - I've got experience. And when I was pointing out the leg kick - it is natural, until other coaches force their players not to do it. And that was the point I was trying to make - everyone should know that kicking the leg up while moving to the right is proper shooting mechanics. Thx

This reminds me (forgot the guys name) who claimed he was a coach or affiliated in some way for some AAU team in Chicago (95% sure it was there).
Then another guy on this forum who actually was working for that same team went around and asked people if they even knew what insidehoops was or if they posted on it and they all said no:roll:
I really hope someone remember's that guys name.
