The mods here deleted my informative "history lesson" post (apparently it didn't meet the high standards ISH has for new threads, and surely I can live with that). Since it contained a bunch of memorable gifs, I'll go ahead and repost it here. Without further ado, here are a collection of the top Finals highlights of some NBA legends:

Here we have Magic Johnson's defining moment. The Lakers were in a dire situation, down to their hated rivals, the Celtics of Boston in the 1987 Finals. Magic, a known distributor, elected to take the big shot for himself (despite Kareem being wide-open under the hoop) and the rest is history!

One of the most famous plays ever! In 1998, Jordan's Bulls were down against the scrappy Utah Jazz, an unacceptable outrage considering that one of their star players was a white. MJ put an end to that quickly and decisively with this fine jumper in the face. He then promptly retired, going out on top.

Although I am not much of a fan of the self-proclaimed "King", this jump shot in the waning moments of game 7 last year took a lot of "cojones". Most people would have expected LeBron to pass the ball there, but he selfishly and aggressively captured the moment for himself!

I have saved the best for last! This classic play comes from the final minute of game 7 in 2010. The Lakers were supposed to win this game going away, but despite Kobe putting on a show for the ages (PER (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=324201)™ score of 39!), somehow the Celtics kept the game close. On the verge of losing the game, the Mamba set up a perfect "Kobe assist" and finished the Celtics off with his signature free throws. Legendary!
