View Full Version : Time for Duncan to Retire

GS1905

Dude is just too old at this point. Spurs had a good run last year thanks to their role players but Duncan wasn't good enough to clinch it. Odin amina koyim senin.

Now he is playing very poorly against the Mavs which looks like it's gonna be another first round exit for Timmy and the Spurs.

He needs to retire before he gets more exposed if such a thing is even possible. First he got exposed by Memphis, then OKC, then by pretty much every single team last season, and now he is getting exposed again by the Mavs.

This is just sad.:(

He already has a legit case for GOAT but he loves playing and one more ring would remove all doubt. He's gonna play at least 1 more year

I pretty much agree though. That missed layup at the end of game 7 against Miami was cringeworthy.

Case for goat my ass. Jordan, Kareem, Shaq, Bird, Magic, Wilt, Russell are all ranked higher than him.

He should retire because only direction he can move is down. He is seriously getting exposed out there.

Yeah, against a 8th seed mavs team with no inside presence. What about the game tonight? Oh yeah, he got exposed. Like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.

He is hurting his legacy.

Duncan doesn't get to play in the pathetic East so he's going to drop a few games on the way to the Finals. Not sure how many people thought the Spurs would sweep the West.

You do know that he hit 4 of 5, don't you? It's not like he was stinking up the joint or chucking - just didn't attempt many. Don't know what Pop's instructions were - but it seemed like he was determined that the bench contribute. Ayres playing 6 mins in this game (0 in the first), while Duncan and Parker - only 29 and 25 mins respectively.

He was All-NBA first team last season, the best Spur in last year's Finals, the best Spur this season, and he's currently averaging 19/7 on 64% against the Mavs. Obvious troll is obvious. Why don't you ask Dirk or Garnett or Kobe to retire while you're at it?

He has been awesome all year, People have been saying this kind of crap for 5 years now. They barely lost last year, and they are healthier and have some better pieces this year (Bellinelli and paddy mills with some playing time under his belt) Duncan, is fine. He is old, but not injury prone and not reliant on athleticism. I would be VERY surprised if the spurs aren't in the conference finals.

Duncan still a good player, he is still balling at an advance age. Appreciate Duncan while he is still here he doesn't have much time left.

If Duncan should retire then nearly all c should outright retire as well.

Duncan isn't Duncan of old and he doesn't have many star games as much but he's still one of the best big men in the game today.

The only player from the spurs playing well in 2011 (1st round lost to memphis) 2012 (WCF lost to OKC) and 2014 (1st round 1-1 vs MAVS) was Ginobili. Parker is the real problem in the playoffs for the Spurs.

The Spurs, lost 1 game. There isn't a problem yet. 1 game.

Also, the Mav's don't have a TON of talent, but they are a smart good team. Losing to them isn't the craziest thing in the world. There is no way the Spurs don't win the series.

vs The Grizzles, in 2011, Parker played really bad, Manu injured won game 2 and 5, and played with much more determination. (manu didnt play game 1, and spurs lost a crucial game).

vs OKC, in 2012, Manu was probably the best player in the series, and for sure, the best player in the 3 Spurs home games (1, 2 and 5) Parker disappeared again.

Vs Miami, in 2013, i know manu had those turnovers in game 6 (2 of them miami fouls) but parker was saved all series (by Dany Green, Gary neal and, and even by Manu in game 5, Duncan in game 6 and Leonard in game 7) In game 7 Manu also played great defense and had 18 points even do he was absolutely tired, parker played bad again.

By the way, in 03 and 04 parker was carried bye Duncan and in 05 and 06 by Ginobili.

Give Duncan and Manu any other pass first PG from 2003 to 2013, and Spurs wins 5 or 6 rings. (instead of 3)

In the worst Ginobili series of his life, he played better defense than parker all series and even better offense in games 3, 5 and 7 vs Miami. Parker was something like 6 from 35 in the last 2 games of the Finals.
