View Full Version : Can you believe that either the Wizards or Hawks are going to the ECF?

It's A VC3!!!

The Hawks will beat the Pacers and the Wizards will beat the Bulls. Once that happens it will be a second round duel between the Hawks and the Wizards. One is going to the ECF. That is a super successful season for either team. How many predicted that to happen?

I said the the same thing in the Pacers-Hawks thread. It's remarkable. Although it's more of a result of the Pacers and Bulls collapses.

After the Pacer's collapse, this has got to be the weakest conference I've ever seen in my life. Could any team in the east, outside of the Heat, even win a single series against any team in the west? I honestly don't think so.

In your wildest dreams. The best that could happen for you would be the Bulls getting bounced.

If so...a 44 or 38 win team will be in the ECF vs the Heat. Awful...just awful.

However....

The 80s west had a WCF between TWO sub .500 teams in the Rockets and Kansas City Kings. Both teams went 40-42.

Compared to that one of them vs the Heat isnt that bad.

This has been my weekly "The west used to be worse than the East is now" post.

I'll be back with another next monday.

Wildest dreams? Have you watched the Pacers-Hawks series at all? Indiana has played 2 good good quarters in 3 games. Right now they have the body language of somebody who just got out of their grandmother's funeral.

I'm talking to a Net fan, who's team has had difficulty with Chicago. I'm well aware that the chemistry of the Pacers left with Granger. It's only 2 losses, tho- let it play out.

oh the horror

Problem is, if isn't just two loses. They've looked really bad for awhile now.

This has to be the worst the east has looked that I can remember.

While I agree that its pretty surprising...you may be not giving the Wizards their due. They have 2 all-star talents that are 19 & 20, a very well established big man that is finally healthy. A try hard glue guy (white guy), and a much better bench than many credit. They should be improving and this series against a team that is offensively challenged was the perfect time for them to learn to win.

it just shows how terrible the east is.

I never supported best 16 teams in the playoffs, but I think the NBA needs to consider it now.

Agreed. Miami literally could rest their players throughout and still make the finals.

Let's wait till each series is over.

It's not too much of a surprise given that most of the playoff spots were filled with sub .500 teams for most of the season. There was a good chance this scenario would happen.

Let's not pretend the Hawks have won the series, though.
