View Full Version : How embarrassing will it be if KD is backdoor swept by the 7th seed?

Memphis is better than 7th seed. They are in 7th seed because of Marc's injury. Without injury earlier in the season they're on pace to be a 50+ win team. Realistically they should be sitting around 3rd and 4th seed. That's how good this team is and they always had OKC's number.

This Memphis team at full strength is no 7th seed.
Hell, when they upset the Spurs as the 8th seed they weren't an 8th seed.

I was trying to be nice. :lol But seriously, the league MVP being backdoor swept by a 7th seed is a humiliating way to begin the Adam Silver era. The league has been trying to make this dude the new face of the league all season, and he can't even win ONE round? :biggums:
Durant may go down as the biggest joke of an MVP this league has ever seen, even worse than Rose.

No one denies the west is stronger than the East, but you really can't hold it against teams for happening to be based in different locations.

Let's not also forget that the East have some defensively minded teams that will wear the hell out of a team in a long series.

WTF does that even mean? If the MVP is an evaluation for the performance during the regular season, then how could it in anyway be "empty" when what he does during the playoffs have no relevance to the award.

You do realize it was Westbrook who singlehandedly brought OKC back from that huge 4th quarter deficit right?! Everyone who watched the game could tell KD was totally shook, it was in his body language. Is Westbrook supposed to keep trying to force the ball to a guy who can't even get open?

What is a pass-first point guard doing to do with the fact that it takes Durant 20 seconds of the possession to get open 5 feet behind the 3 point line?:lol

I think you need to look up what "excuse" means vs what an "explanation" means.

Marc Gasol was out for a good while. Memphis isn't an ordinary 7th seed in terms of their ability to play anyone in the west. That's a nightmare first round matchup for any playoff teams in either conference.

Droid101

Memphis is a quality team not the usual first round team
they are a conference final quality team

Same thing when other top seeds in the west get upset in the West. They are losing to other 50 win teams if they lost to those teams in the 2nd round/WCF not much fuss would be made about it.

Excuses? It's the reality. Memphis is too good for a 7th seed team. Without Gasol's injury earlier in the season, they might be sitting at 3rd to 4th seed.

Kiddlovesnets

Its a very good 7th seed, better than the 3rd seed in the East. Nothing embarrassing, although if you are a OKC fan you dont like the trend of the team's rosters become worse and worse each year.

ILLsmak
04-25-2014, 01:26 AM
It won't happen. The refs will take it to the next level in game 4.

I didn't watch... but I think unless some level of craziness erupts between KD and Westbrook (that would rival the hype of them making it beyond the 2nd round), they are gonna win regardless.

Houston, however, may not be so lucky.

Could also see Indy making it out as well.

This stuff does happen every year, but the dynamic between KD and Westbrook is very volatile... so it could really cause them to lose if it ever "got real."

it's not like the 8th seed hawks aren't 2-1 vs the 1st seed pacers.

it's not like the 7th seed bobcats are putting up a fight vs the 2nd seed heat.

it's not like the 6th seed nets almost stole the 2nd game vs the 3rd seed raps to go up 2-0.

it's not like the 5th seed wizards are 2-0 vs. the 4th seed bulls.

it's not like that at all.

They were the best 8th seed ever when they beat The Spurs. People still laugh at the Spurs because of that. Face it, most posters here are kids. They have no clue. They follow players. They are not fans of the game. They know nothing about it. They go online and troll. Act the way kids act. No need to even bring it up.

MJ never got backdoor swept by the Pistons. And with the exception of 1988, every time the Bulls met the Pistons in the playoffs, it was in the ECF (1988 they played in the second round). And the Pistons had go to scorers in Isaiah Thomas, Joe Dumars and Vinnie Johnson.
