Let's say half your job is to rebound and you have 18 minutes to do it, do you think you could recover at least one?

Absolutely, unless I'm very unlucky with where it bounces. Helps being 6'6 and actually playing ball at a relatively high level, though.

I'm 6'3, lazy, nonathletic and out of shape. So no.

Give me 40 min and I would give you 10. You would see the very essence of stat padding.

I would grab more than Bosh in the same amount of time for sure

Only if it bounced straight to me and there was no one around.

Right. So you're telling me that someone who is 6-7/220 and in shape couldn't get one rebound?

yes, the ball doesnt lie, and it will eventually gravitate towards the only ****** on the court.

I'd hustle and grab one of the long rebounds, but I'm not grabbing anything over a player.

If you get block and catch the ball does that count as a rebound? It does in 2K

04-25-2014, 08:46 AM
yeah I could do it.. Especially because the ball can go anywhere. Even the small guys in the NBA an get rebounds just because they are in the right place at the right time. I am not a huge man, but I could get 1 rebound for sure.

Unless I'm Hibbert, no.

Yes. Look at the amount of times teams take shots (usually threes) and they don't go in for a rebound and the ball is left there for anyone to take. Also sometimes with free throws they don't go for the rebounds, thinking their teammate is gonna score.

I see no problems in grabbing a rebound in garbage time.

accidentally maybe.

If you know that you have 18 min to get a rebound and don't have any other responsibilities on the court, then probably yes, and of course no, if get really unlucky

I'd probably be overwhelmed by the speed and physicality.

Do I actually have to run up and down the court? Or can I just stay on one end?

In garbage time they'll let you have it.

you'd be banging in the paint vs 7 footers who are much stronger and more athletic then you and can out jump you, not to mention PGs and Sgs who can also out jump and out muscle you.

Unless it was a long bounce and no one was around you, no, you couldn't get one defensive rebound vs NBA competition if they were trying their best. I am very confident in saying that.

With Bosh or Hibbert in the paint it would be almost impossible.

Yeah sure, a loose ball rebound. JJ Barea doesn't average 0 rebounds a game, he's quick to a loose ball and he's not grabbing over anyone really.

My averages in 18 mins in the NBA:

2.8 pts
0.2 rebs
2.4 asts
0.6 stls
0.0000000001 blks
0.8 turnovers

42% FG (as long as I'm wide open all day)
11% FG if I'm not open
3/4 FTs total so 75%
40% 3pt (as long as I'm wide open all day)
5% 3pt if I'm covered

Any team willing to give me a chance? I wouldn't. I couldn't even ball in the D-League :oldlol: too many athletic freaks there, I'm only 5'9 :rant

Your turnovers are too low. I expect it to be more like 4-6. :lol

Unless it was a long bounce and no one was around you, no, you couldn't get one defensive rebound vs NBA competition if they were trying their best. I am very confident in saying that.In this hypothetical scenario, I believe those long bounces and stray rebounds must be taken into account. The first couple of plays in this clip are good examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tDpobypzSo

The very first play provides a rebound that nearly any player could snag. They happen, and they count. On the contrary, the next rebounds feature the type that us regular folk wouldn't have a chance (snared high above the rim by the Wallaces).

As such, if a poster here were given 18 minutes of NBA action with the sole goal being to grab one single rebound, there's surely a chance they wouldn't get a rebound. But I also believe there's a chance they would, since some rebounds aren't so much about skill as they are about happenstance.

:lol Yeah, you're right. No way could I get a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio in the NBA

But I have to justify coach giving me 18 mins... so I'll say I average 1.6 turnovers a game :pimp:

You would have to shoot 20 3's (making 1) in those 18 minutes to shoot 5%. That's some next level JR Smith shit :oldlol:
