It can be overcome with tremendous amounts of skill, but if you take a 205 lb. beast and a 135 lb. dude and give them the same training, the 205er will crush the little guy. They have weight classes in MMA for a reason. It makes a huge difference... and 99% of NBA players have no martial arts training, so size matters even more.

They used to hold open-weight tournaments as well... and heavyweights almost always won. By the way Pride is a lower-tier mixed martial arts organization that has since been bought out by UFC... this is all coming from a really small dude who trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I weigh 135 and I could choke out some big dudes if they don't know what they're doing, but if they train as much as I do, an 80 pound difference is basically impossible to overcome in a fight.

Yeah.. UFC rules would be sorta like "cheating" (ie dictating the techniques and direction that fighters take)

I agree that he and others in UFC would win in a competition due to regulations, but as you said, remove them and Bruce Lee would likely cause long-term health issues.. :oldlol:
