Ketchup in fridge, bread in fridge. A loaf of bread starts to go moldy in the cupboard in like 4 days, and will last over a month in the fridge. So unless you eat a loaf of bread every week, refrigerate that shit.

If you have salted butter, it won't go bad quickly, especially if you keep it covered. Room temperature butter is great, because it's so easy to spread.

They even make little crocks called butter bells (http://www.butterbell.com/butter-bell-crocks_2042_p01_09/)for keeping butter this way.

That I did know. One thing I found out recently is that keeping eggs in the fridge is something that is exclusive to the US and Canada. Something to do with how the washing process makes them permeable which causes it to spoil much faster.

The trick is to put it in the microwave while it is still in its packaging (usually plastic bag type of thing). You only need to microwave it for like 10-15 seconds until the bag becomes puffed up, and you'll see that it comes out warm and soft like you just bought it. Only time we put bread in the fridge is when we bought too many at one time.
