Sensitive? Just cause I got through watching Titanic and shed a manly tear or two don't mean I'm 'sensitive'.

Just pointing out that a dude possibly looking in the general direction of a 50 year old team owner while dunking against a subpar team with their star injured is whack as hell. Especially when said old man's 'swag' is still high enough to outsell the dude by over 7X in dude's prime. It's kind of sad when you really think about it.

larry bird doesn't have the balls to sit courtside. there's a reason why he's in the stands.

Larry Legend doesn't want his fingerprints on that train wreck. Plus if Bron really wants to make believe he'd be throwing down in the 80s instead of flopping around like a gold fish out of water, I'm sure Larry would oblige throw a jab or two at his grill.

Can anybody who really watched Jordan say he wouldn't have done the same thing that Lebron did had the roles been reversed?

That is, if Lebron and MJ switched postions where Lebron was the retired GOAT who constantly shit on Jordan's accomplishments regardless of the fact that Jordan praised him. Do you really think if the shoe was on the other foot that Jordan wouldn't have stared Lebron down?

The difference is that when Lebron does it, he is looked at as a bitch. If Jordan did it, the stare would be symbolic of his "killer mentality" and that he would rip the heart out of anyone, even the GOAT. The double standard with MJ is crazy. The dude is a prick to Lebron his entire career but yet Lebron can't look his direction when he is destroying his team in the playoffs. Come on son.

I don't think Lebron or Jordan fear anyone on a basketball court.

The question is irrelevant though. I am just saying that if the roles were reversed Jordan would have done the same thing. Maybe worse, like when he went nuts on Van Gundy for saying he befriended players and then took advantage of their friendship during games. MJ didn't take kindly too anyone questioning him publicly.

I grew up watching MJ too, and I believe he is the greatest to ever play... and I believe he would get the better of LeBron if they went at each other. I just get annoyed when people act like it would be a slaughter. But I guess I agree with you on some level, LeBron probably wouldn't go out of his way to make it personal. That's generally not in his nature.

weak

Kobe dropped 42 on MJ in one half and in MJ's last all-star game, he hits a clutch jumper to make it a 3pt game at the end of the 4th, Kobe makes 3 straight FTs to get it to OT and the West won

Kobe (5-3) vs. Michael Jordan(3-5) h2h (8 games)

Kobe: 22.8 ppg 4.4 rpg 3.9 apg 1.5 TOV 46,6% FG 55,2% 3PT 75,9% FT
Jordan: 24.5 ppg 4.3 rpg 3.6 apg 2.0 TOV 43,2% FG 30% 3PT 75% FT

MJ also played 6 more minutes per game than Kobe

that's what we call destroying MJ's soul

Yeah same, not taking away from LeBrons all-around talents, I also get peeved hearing people talk about the guy like hes some type of scrub. Even though I'm not particularly fond of him at times, it offends my sensibilities.

Just in this case though, people who claim this is some type of moral victory for him are out to lunch. If they were on the court both in their primes, it would be an amazing rivalry, with ebb and flow, but let's be honest, if anybody would be initiating stare-downs, it'd be MJ. That's not to say it would rattle lebron to the point that it would affect his game (who knows really), but it would be MJ playing those types of mind games and LeBron going about his business.

I don't want this to become a flame war because I respect both players equally, but Lebron is better than Jordan at a bunch of things. Just like Jordan is better than Lebron at stuff too.

Lebron is bigger, faster, stronger, and just an overall more impressive athlete to start. He also passes better, rebounds better, more versatile defender, better 3 point shooter, finishes better through contact, protects the fastbreak better (chasedown blocks, altering shots because he is trailing somone), and is by all accounts a better teammate than Jordan was.

Jordan was a better scorer and on ball defender. He also had better footwork, had a better post game, had a better midrange shot, was a more insane competitor, was better at stripping the ball off weakside help, and had better shoes.

They were both equal in conditioning and durability.

These are two of the greatest players ever. I don't see why they need to be compared while Lebron is still only 29 years old.

Get the fvck outta here, no one is having a meltdown :wtf: The Bran stans are going around as if LeBron had literally dunked on MJ on the basketball court. I like what Lebron did.. Its something Jordan would have done in his day. I don't understand what all the sensitivity is about in this thread..

Mj is still better than Lebron, but Lebron took the opportunity to dunk on Jordan's squad and stare at mike in order rub it in a little.

Mike is not just some ordinary retired baller.. He is the GOAT, and he has a huge ego.

It must really be tough being a Jordan stan. All you can do is watch old highlights, Space Jam, and cheer on his shitty franchise. Most bitter fanbase by far. All they have left to do is root against other players. They are as bitter as their degenerate gambling hero.

I would call myself a Jordan stan except that I also love today's players (MJ was just better) and I've gotta say it must be harder for Kobe stans than anyone. MJ has been out of the game for so long, they've adjusted to the new way of life. The butthurt from Kobe's demise is still raw, they're still scrambling to find new meaning in life.

Read the thread title:confusedshrug: LeBron himself emphatically said he didn't stare at Jordan, camera angles show he isn't even looking towards Jordan's direction yet his stans claim he destroyed his soul? So either LeBron is to beta to admit he did or his stans are full of shit, which is it?

Ummmm.... probably a stupid question but... how do you stans know he was even looking at Jordan? :confusedshrug:

Is there another angle that shows who/what he was looking at?

But either way, congrats to Bron on getting a fast break dunk against the Bobcats with their best player having only one good leg. Hell of an accomplishment, GOAT stuff :applause:

they actually show a splitcam in the nba.com highlights I watched, and there is clearly some eye contact going on. But from there to say it was a stare down... I'd say not quite. It was probably more a case of Lebron looking at Jordan out of curiosity to see if his childhood idol was watching him dunk it. Then I figure they locked eyes and Lebron did not disengage - alpha as ***, yes. But I wouldn't classify it as taunting.

It was interesting seeing Jordan's face. In the moment, he seemed to appreciate the exchange, but afterwards he seemed somewhat annoyed. I think he figured in hindsight ''was he sending me a message?'' ''That little nikka!''

MJ's problem is that he just can't let go.

His ego is huge and I promise you, during that last game he wanted to go out on court and make another comeback, but he simply knows it's over, although he refuses to admit it.

He is desperate to stay in the game and that's why he's owning a shitty team, while in reality, it would be the best thing to just LET GO and go gamble or watch some old highlights and talk to the other 80s players how "real basketball was being played in their era".

Kobe is an exact copy of MJ but smarter, he won't risk sitting courtside some day while some young stud trash talks him.

This is a young man's world, and LeBron's league. All MJ can do now is pray that once the King is done, he doesn't surpass him as GOAT.

:lol at people complaining about LeBron dominating the Bobcats. What's he supposed to do? Take it easy so they have a chance? Where is the logic in that? No, we just want him to not act like such a sore winner. The Heat are supposed to sweep charlotte. Lebron is AT WORST the 2nd best player in the league, reigning champ, and fmvp; he should act like he's been there before not lording over a weak bobcats team. That's simply frontrunning at its finest.

On topic, I'm pretty sure Lebron was checking the trailer from his peripheral vision and people are just making it into what they want it to be. Whatever the case throwing down a dunk in the playoffs without keeping your eye on the rim is pretty awesome.

MJ could come out of retirement and defend Bran pretty well for 10 mins. If Diaw can do it, so can MJ :hammerhead:

I have said it before, bran is lucky he is not playing in MJ's era. How many finals would Bran get to? Possibly in 94 and 95 best case scenario? MJ once he started winning, didn't lose more than 1 series, if I recall. I guess it's been the same for Bran and the Heat in this era, but its only 2 championships in.
