Agreed 100%. Mellon Collie is great, but of the 28 or so songs, I'd have been fine with it being cut to like 18. Siamese Dream is perfect top down. Every song is a classic to me.

I have a hard time picking a Zeppelin record. Physical Graffiti is probably my personal #1, but Achilles' Last Stand still kicks my ass so hard.
I do believe "Blues" is Hendrix's best work. He wasn't restricted by trying to be "radio friendly" by writing 3:30 minute songs with the traditional verse/bridge/chorus... rinse/repeat.

It was pure stream of consciousness playing by a master. Also, the first track -- the acoustic version of Hear My Train A Comin' -- is freaking amazing.


Zeppelin was a tough call, but Houses of the Holy, I believe, is their most complete album with songs that all make sense together. On most Zeppelin albums, there are one or two "skip" songs for me. On HotH, there are none.

I love The Wall, but I feel like it gets a little tedious during the second half of the album with "The Trial" and all of that theatrical stuff. Plus, Gilmour, Mason and Wright had virtually no input in the writing of the songs. It was sort of like a Waters solo album with those other guys serving as studio musicians.

To me, their most complete albums -- as a group -- are Meddle, DSOTM, Wish You Were Here and Animals.

My favorite is Animals. Pure ecstasy, start to finish.

I actually probably listen to Lateralus more than Aenima, but I chose the latter because it was such a breakthrough album at the time. Way ahead of its time.

I also considered including APC's "Thirteenth Step," one of my favorite albums of all-time.

Disagree. The more you listen to Mellon Collie the more those "filler" songs grow on you. They recorded around 100 songs for that album and narrowed it down to what, 22 or so? I wish more bands did shit like that in their peak of music creation.

Mellon Collie was my go to listener during the roughest point of my life and some of those songs that seemed like filler songs before just popped out and sounded amazing and shit, I don't know how to explain it. Of course now when I go back to listen to it the album just reminds me of darker days and shit so it's not as enjoyable. Very weird ****ing experience listening to that album if I'm having a good day or some shit. Just doesn't sit well with me but still an amazing album nonetheless.
