Obviously they are a lot of players past their prime and one candidate is always injured - but who you got as their best player right now?

Joe Johnson has been their best player in the playoffs, but the team has been the epitome of doing things by committee since Brook went down. It's a game-by-game effort.
With that being said, Paul Pierce is their leader.

Deron Williams he is the difference maker. If he plays good they win if he plays like shit, they will lose.

Pierce because I'm completely biased in his favor and couldn't care less about facts.

Joe Joe has the most talent currently.
KG has the best mentally.
Pierce has the best combo of mentality and remaining talent.
the correct answer is joe johnson

Healthy I think Brook Lopez is the best player on the team, but consistency wise, it's gotta be "Iso-Joe" right now.
But, I don't wanna come off homo-phobic. So Jason Collins.

Joe Johnson, easily.

Not really. They've won plenty of games with him playing like shit. Hell, he's not even the best PG on the roster. Livingston is better.

Deron seems really flaky these days.

Joe Johnson has been killing us, with little to no effort.

Joe Johnson has been killing us, with little to no effort.
Raptors locked him up in Game 4. Hoping for more of the same for the next 2 games.
DeMar stepped up well on defensive end that night, with Ross gone ghost, no Fields in the lineup, and Salmons being Salmons.

It's Joe Johnson. Raptors doubled him when they could yesterday and it was effective. Basically said, anyone but Joe Johnson has to beat us... and the Nets couldn't.

To answer the question for the Nets, I would go with what most Nets fans have stated:
Regular season
Williams, in terms of his talent. Pierce for his 2 way play.
Post season
Joe Johnson has been the most consistent.

Pierce played pretty well last night. Garnett did too, but he's too limited at this stage. The Nets basically have a carousel at center, with Plumlee and Blatche off the bench.
The defense for the Raptors just locked in, especially on the 3 point shooting. Hoping we can continue to lock of Joe Johnson.

brook lopez :lol
brook lopez :lol
It's quite scary to think that the Nets swept the Heat without Brook.
It's like giving a team a handicap and the handicap being their biggest weakness.

I just try to imagine what the nets would be doing if it had been the other way around and KG got hurt and not Brook. If they still had Livingston inserted into the starters and Paul at the 4. Coulda been a very scary team. Brook doesn't rebound as much as KG or play kg's defense, but he also wouldn't only be playing 22 mins a game either
Pierce has pretty good since January but in the playoffs it has been JJ.
BTW always felt JJ should be better given his skill level and size. 6'8"
Can handle, shoot, post up, and is a solid passer
Seems like all the makings of a top 5-10 player.
I guess the league felt he didn't have the it factor.

Laugh all you want. I'm very impressed with Plumlee... dude's gonna be a killer in 2-3 years. Tough, plays D, ballhawk... JJ is having a good year, but I remember countless games he was invisible in.
