I hated Shaq during his career just about as much as anyone, but I don't really take this as seriously as you guys are taking it. I think pretty much all kinds of jokes are fine. We make racist jokes, jokes about women getting raped, jokes about celebrities like Justin Bieber getting murdered, jokes about Jews in ashtrays, so I can't really say that jokes about the disabled are terrible or anything like that when the other stuff is ok. We pretty much all see the memes below all the time, and no one gets upset and lets their offense be known.

As a fellow "disabled" person, I know what the guy is talking about having been made fun of and stared at since I was little. I've grown used to that and have no problems laughing at myself and encourage my boys to make light of my situation. Honestly, I've heard it all. Nothing really bothers me anymore. That's all fun and dandy, but it's a hell of a difference when a major celebrity broadcasts his mockery to thousands of strangers. I doubt Shaq did it because he "hates" disabled people and it might even be possible he didn't realize he was disabled, BUT it was extremely distasteful. Even if Jahmel wasn't disabled, what Shaq did was wrong. He went out of his way to make fun of some dude online and made sure his whole fan base got to see it. That's bullying. That's kicking someone while they're down then spitting in their face. Shaq's actions definitely left a bad taste in my mouth
