View Full Version : Shaq is so god damn useless when analyzing the game on TNT

Nothing he says is ever informative or insightful. All he ever does is repeat whatever Kenny or Chuck says. He always starts off with "I agree with Chuck" or "I agree with Kenny" and then repeat exactly what they just said.

I agree but i don't think that this is something new :confusedshrug:

I agree with OP. Shaq is always just repeating what Kenny or Chuck said with nothing original of his own.

Shaq's horribly fabricated foot in trash can fall the other day sums up his career as an analyst.

I agree with the first response to the OP. Shaq just agrees with Kenny or Chuck and then says the same thing.

Eh, if I wanted a real analysis of a game, Id go see if there's a guest coach on NBAtv.

What I expect out of Shaq is to comment on the big men and give his usual 28/15, 7 points a quarter recipe for success.

He's there for Shaqtin a fool, make silly jokes, get butthurt and argue with Chuck, which entertain me lol. Some of the funniest moments I've seen on Inside have been because he's there. He's like the little brother of the crew.

Why couldn't they get analysts like NFL analysts? Are all ex-NBA players dumb/inarticulate? :confusedshrug:

Kenny is pretty intelligent and articulate when he's around other people who are the same. Chuck isn't the smartest guy around, but he gives a genuine effort to be serious and insightful when he's allowed to. Shaq is the only one of the three who is consistently arrogant and childish regardless of the situation, and the worst part is that he drags the other two down with him. Replace him with someone like C-Webb and Inside the NBA would be 10x better. Webber is the perfect balance of good humor and insight, and has good chemistry with the other two - especially Chuck, we wouldn't have to watch the two of them awkwardly bitch, whine, and mess with each other constantly.

i agree with op, one would think "The Big Aristotle" would come up with more poignant analyses than he does.

He is horrible. He makes me feel stupid when he talks. It makes me dumber. They need to replace him. His voice too irritates me.

shaq knows what he's talking about, but he's not very articulate since he had a speech impediment early in his life. it's something he had to consistently work on but even still he is very insightful when it comes to evaluating big-men in the league and he understands the nuances of the game that the casual fan won't consider.

To be fair, all of them are saying crap nobody cares about.

I don't think Shaq fits in on that show either. He really brings the show down. Whereas Kenny & Charles kind of poke fun, Shaq is just a jerk about it and he's rarely funny. He doesn't offer any kind of break downs in the game or inside knowledge. There's a lot of guys who could do a better job. At least we have Kenny & Charles back on tv. Those few weeks they were gone that show sucked all together.

I haven't heard anything insightful ever on any of these pre-game or post-game panels.
Ever. In 30 years.

Occasionally a good coach turned game analyst will say something worthwhile during a game, but it is rare.

Exactly, what exact insight is saying that the X team is better than Y team, because X team plays hard etc. wow incredible. No shit sherlock:oldlol:
