View Full Version : Is Nene as massive underachiever?

I have always felt that Nene could be a true elite big man (based on talent) in the NBA. While he's had a solid career it could/should have been so much imo.
He to me has every single skill you want out of a big man
#Can hit the mid range jumper
#Extremely High IQ and creativity in the post/passing
#Elite Hands
#Mobility and coordination very few have
#Quality post game either hand
#Above average strength and defence
#Unstoppable one on one
When you match up the talent to the impact (prior to have raping the Bulls) he's had over his career it just does not match up to me at all. I don't think he's even got 70% out of himself. He's always lacked the relentless type attitude (like Z-Bo) but and only ever brings it in spurts.
Anyway I hope he keeps beasting in the playoffs and keeps this level of play up for as long as he can. The man is a sight to behold when he's aggressive.

Yes. Also Hibbert for Nene straight up? Pacers would say yes in a moment

For these playoffs, for sure. Career wise, Hibbert > Nene and I have to believe he will get his head right again in the future.

:biggums:
Honestly what he did in this playoffs surpasses Hibberts entire medicore career not even close, right now and career wise Nene shit's all over Hibbert.
People on Roy's dick cause he beat up a undersized Miami team while Nene took a dump on the DPOY and another good defender in Gibson, that's not even comparable.

I remember last time he was healthy he had a beast of a series against us with the Nuggets, good to see him healthy again and performing on a great young team.

The deep playoff runs Hibbert helped facilitate were better than Nene's 1 playoff series.

You mean last year only right? He was a scrub in 2012. He was a scrub last year as well. ***** peaked for two series then went back to normal.

Hibbert actually protected the basket until recently. His D is what separates him from Nene. And people mock Hibbert for his points and rebounding stats, but their career averages are very similar there. Nene is a more efficient scorer and that is it.
used to love Denver's potential when he was a rook
him and Yarbourgh were my niggz

Nene was the 4th man offensively and provided little defense in his 1 playoffs run outside of the 1st round. Hibbert has at least advanced twice and has done it in about half the career seasons.

This right here is the first Pacers fan to actually defend Hibbert. :lol

Injury prone and lacks consistency. He can dominate a game when he is on though.

I'm not defending his current play. And I'm not trying to say he was some great player before either. Keep in mind, I'm only saying he was better than a player who inspired a thread asking if he is a massive underachiever.

Spends too much of his time and energy on his MMA training.
