its a joke how underrated and underused he is. hes not the most athletic one but very skilled offensively and a decent playmaker. one of the best shooters in the world.
there should be enough teams in the nba who play him 20 minutes a night:facepalm

He has zero athletics.

He won't make it in this league.

Poor handles, poor defense, slow and below average passer...at 25 years old...

He will be found at the end of some team's bench for the next 2-3 years until he accepts he is not good enough and goes overseas to enjoy playing basketball.

A team with a tall, lengthy point guard who can guard 2s could use him. Jimmer is such a huge liability on defense, is basically useless as a playmaker, and is physically underwhelming in almost every way...his only redeeming quality is his shooting ability. If he had a point guard who had the size/athleticism to guard the shooting guards that he can't, who can also handle the playmaking and passing duties...he could have some value. The problem is there aren't that many teams with that type of point guard. MCW is one, there's Vasquez, and Exum is another one for the future.

But overall, it's really not looking good for Jimmer long-term. He really is the prototypical "doesn't translate to the NBA" type of player.

He's got a skill that is always in demand in the NBA, he can shoot..really good. Very good offensive player. Just lacks size and can't defend well. But a smart team can use him really well.

aside from his spot on shooting, hes actual a good pick and roll player. however, good luck finding a team that will allow him to be a primary ball handler, unless they have some lock down paint D

he should be able to carve a niche like Reddick. he's so streaky tho, and short.

Where overseas? In his current condition, he is unable to crack the rotation of any serious European team.

His profile isn't sought for. Too small to be a shooting specialist (tougher defenses, extremely team oriented basketball, few touches for everyone but the star players), no handles to run the point (no defense either).

He could try in a minor league, Euroleague no way, Eurocup improbable either...

Off hand I'd say he's comparable to someone like Navarro who is what one inch taller?

He's decent, he's very streaky and he could be a resourceful bench player for teams that lack offense in their second unit.

Navarro is far better suited for the European game, has a quicker release and has been brought up in FIBA ball. Obviously much stronger mentally, his confidence in his prime >>>>>>> Fredette's.

I somehow believe Fredette could have been a decent, Reddick type of secondary offensive option, but that's in an IDEAL setting.

On top of his defficiencies as a player, Jimmer hasn't had any luck with the team he landed as a rookie in the first place. They never meant to use him in the proper way.

NY might be a great fit. He could play the Kerr role for Kerr. All Kerr did was shoot and help bring the ball up court. Jimmer has more to his game than that. And he's from NY.

I reckon he could do ok playing next to either MCW in Philly or with Tyreke again in the Pelicans. If you can play him for 10-12 mins a game next to a massive PG/ball handling SG he should be fine.

He could be decent for a team running an ultra small lineup, play 12-15mpg

He's about the same size as Jaycee Caroll and Carroll gets a decent amount of minutes on Real Madrid's team. I don't think Carroll is that better at defending and he never runs offense as well.

Besides the fact that the Clippers is overtly stacked at the moment.

I feel that a coach like Doc River would somehow make him useful and impactful.

Or you know, as previous posters mentioned. Be great at garbage time, which is, half of the league and their regular season.

Carrol is a decent comparison, though he seems a better midrange shooter than Jimmer. But, again, it's about being given the opportunity. Since he is not a transcendent talent, Jimmer would have to land in an ideal setting, willing to exploit the only weapon he has - shooting. And European team often take foreign players, especially Americans, for other qualities.

Also, Jimmer would have to be willing to explore the possibility of playing in Europe and it doesn't seem to be doing that...

Playing the Steve Kerr role in the triangle. Being coached by Kerr- yeah this season will be his breakout

I'm sure he'll explore it when the NBA isn't an option but I'm guessing it still is at this stage.

he should model his game like Reddick.....when he first got into the NBA...as he is not a PG at all..

Reddick seems to be a better set shooter and he has 3 inches on Jimmer... He started averaging double figures in his 5th season only, but at least the Magic didn't draft him NOT to use him, which appears to be the case with the Kings and Jimmer.

In the meantime, Jimmer's confidence seems to have taken quite a hit...

They had no interest in him this year despite their lack of a pg so I doubt it.
