Assuming you are offered a position in a field you are currently in.

The interview goes like this:

Boss: "I hate {insert racial slur here} like you. The sole reason we are offering the position to you is for affirmative action/diversity requirements. Do you want the job {insert racial slur here}?"

Do you accept the job?

The boss is whom you would be all during the day on a daily basis.

Accept it, embezzle millions, then record him saying something racist that you baited out of him, then try to sell it to TMZ to defame him.

No but I would accept such a job for $1.5M a year, haha does that make me a bad person? :(

1.5M per is a sizable hike over the aforementioned 100K. With that kind of a dough, you could put up with the prick for a couple of years and then pull a Scarface from Half Baked.

So no you are most certainly NOT a bad person...

yes, take the job, have a recording device, and allow him to racially harass you for about a year. You file a lawsuit against him for a nice chunk of money. you have just made +200k a year and you get the last laugh.

if there are possibilities to be promoted, and I think I could outrank the guy in a year or two. yea, why not.

you know how people know I'm an alpha?

I would most likely take the job and remind him on a daily basis why I am here and what he has bought me.

No brainer.

Absolutely. Why is this even a question.

100k is a paycut where I am so absolutely not. Offer me a decent amount more than I'm currently paid and sure, I don't see why not. I think a pay rise of about 30k would be the "sure thing" point for me but I'd give 20k serious consideration as well.

Plus, if I'm spending that much time around the boss in my field, I'm basically in the perfect career progression position for the next step anyway, it's probably a better offer than my current job.

Working with people you don't like is really not very hard and goes a long way to making you appreciate everything else anyway!

Take the job and then go over your boss's head to his superiors about his racism. You make bank and can punish the racist bastard all at once.

damn son

For a comparison point, Perth's cost of living is 20% higher than New York and our salaries follow that pretty roughly as well. So it's not as good as it sounds :) Basically anyone who didn't screw up their education (I would argue I probably even did this!) or chase a low paying passion job will be on something near that by the time they are 30, other than my unemployed friend who did both of the above I'm actually the lowest paid in my group of friends and by a significant amount on several of them (damn lucky engineers!)

Still, point stands that I'd have no objection to the above situation if you pay me more :)

I would handle it maturely, I think. I would take the job, being fully aware of his mentality. Then after I signed the contract I would be like WTF??? This shit is unacceptable! And I would try to get the media to creat a shitstorm over it. Id go to my coworkers and repeat corny slogans in their face like WE ARE ONE, and Id continuously tell them to #RISE until one of them slugged me unconscious like I was Ray Rice's girlfriend.
