No matter how bad this guy is, the OKC FO is NOT going to pay two coaches. Brooks is safe for the remainder of his contract. They couldn't even pay Harden extra pocket change, you think they're going to pay two coaches? Sorry OKC fans, but it is what it is :oldlol:

Isn't his contract up soon? Maybe there's am option on it?

How much is he getting paid?

BlazerRed

Quick little research says he's contracted up to the end of '16 @ 4mil per :lol 2 more years of failure for OKC.. right around the time Durant and Westbrook's contracts are up too.. and after all this time failing under Brooks I'm sure they'll be ready to leave. Cya boys. Portland will take Durant back up to the PNW where he belongs!

Depends. Do they still have Perkins to carry them in this scenario?

I think people gave Sam Presti too much credit, if he doesn't fire Scott Brooks and make some roster moves then he isn't as smart as what they thought he was.

Firing the coach and paying two of them isn't Presti's choice. He could recommend it, but the owners need to approve it. It's their money.

They'll have to fire him, they have no choice.

If they continue to struggle, Westbrook and Durant will get fed up and leave. If that happens, OKC will realize it's a tiny market with a town no good players want to play in. They will never, ever, in the rest of their history, have a better core than they do right now. If they don't realize how much more money they can make by doing anything in their power to win rings and keep Durant in OKC for life, then they deserve to fade into permanent obscurity.

That should be the thought process but I'm still certain they keep him.

I wouldn't be surprised.

They just have to realize that paying $8 million (I think?) to buy out his contract would be nothing compared to how much money Durant, and by proxy the Thunder being an elite team, make them.

He leaves and they're making no more money than any other crappy small market team.

Yep. I believe the Thunder are one of the most profitable teams in the league, but that will die in the ass overnight the minute Durant and Westbrook leave.

Even if the FO Did decide to replace Brooks I don't know you can get any of those big names. Not many people want to go to OKC.

If you don't believe when Presti picks up the phone offering a job to coach Durant and Westbrook, a proven coach won't listen your fooling yourself. There are only 30 jobs and few elite teams.

Exactly. I just don't get it, wtf are they waiting on? Are they just about making as much money as they can from this franchise or winning Championships? I think we are about to find out.

We shall see. Let's finish this series first. Your talking about a group of billionaires owning this team. They got that way for a reason. Their bottom line of buying out Brooks isn't much. After they amnesty Perk this offseason I expect them to go all out and go over the luxury tax. Championship windows are small.

:biggums: why the hell would they amnesty Perk in the final year of his contact?! They are not doing that. He could be traded as an expirer in a package though.

How rich an owner is, is irrelevant.

What is important is how much revenue does the team generate. very few owners are going to accept losing money to win games.

then maybe the accept paying 2 coaches.

But their owners being worth $10 billion + is irrelevant to how OKC will operate the team.

I think if they were going to amnesty him for cap room they'd have done it a year or two ago, not the year he expires.
