does CP3 get a pass? On one side you look at his stacked team and think they should pull this through: mvp candidate, best rebounder, 6thman of the year, top 5 coach. On the other, you can look at the struggles the clippers have went through, the Donald sterling business and GSW playing really good. Should he get crucified if the clippers do get bounced?

He played horribly last night.

He's had a good game this series but Blake has been carrying them except for game 1 and there was another game Blake struggled.

See my thread. No passes. He has had plenty.

Definitely no crucifixion (haha) but he doesn't get a pass from me either. CP3 hasn't exactly played up to snuff this series. He's been the most important player this though - plays well in wins and poorly in losses (except game 1). But the biggest blemish for me is that he doesn't seem to be firing up the rest of the guys. Outside of DJ, no one is stepping up.

With that being said, I got the Clippers winning game 7. I have little to no doubt.

If you have to judge him, judge his performance, not just whether his team wins or loses.

He shouldn't. He hasn't been great his series and Warriors are playing without the guy who made them a top 3 defense

Chris Paul is the best PG in the NBA........in the regular season, playoffs, not so much:oldlol:

I very much dislike the Clippers and hope that Curry and Klay get hot and absolutely demolish them next game. However, this Chris Paul hate is very biased and unnecessary.

He doesn't make excuses for himself and despite clearly being slowed by injuries, has played pretty well considering. He's covered Steph Curry very well all throughout the series and is doing everything he can to help his team win the series.

That being said, the Warriors are incredible. From a match up perspective, they're clearly outmatched at nearly every position:

CP3 > Curry
Redick/Crawford > Klay
Griffin > Lee/Green/Barnes/Speights
Jordan > Lee/O'neal

The only position i would say the Warriors have an upper hand is SF with Iguodala.

There's no reason the Clippers shouldn't have ended this series already, they're clearly the better team.

Paul shouldn't get any passes if they lose.

This is so retarded.

Better team? Maybe. Better roster? Definitely.

Lebron averaged 38/8/8 in a series, he didn't get a break, why should paul.

We don't have Bogut, who singlehandedly made us a top 10 defense.

Imagine this series with a fully healthy Warriors team with Bogut, and on the flipside DeAndre Jordan was out for the series :coleman:

clippers literally beat gsw in all positions cept for SF.

He'll get a bunch of excuses, just like he always does.

He's averaging 17/8 on 40% shooting with 4 TO's. Those are Lebron 2011 Finals numbers...worse actually. Yet nobody says anything. This is a guy who is frequently referred to as a top 3 player. I think the standards should be a little bit higher for the so called undisputed best PG in the game.

I know, read a couple posts up, I said the same exact thing.

Re-read my post that you responded to, i said they clearly have the better roster. However, that doesn't mean they're the better team.

Who has played better, Reggie Jackson or Chris Paul?

He's been in the league for nearly 10 years and hasn't been to the Conference Finals once.

No excuses.

During the game last night they cut to trainers messing with the palm of his hand like 10+ times. Already getting the excuses ready :oldlol:

Though I don't think the NBA will let the Clippers lose.

No excuses no but he's not himself due to injury.

I give CP3 a pass the same reason I gave nash a pass.

I dont buy that a guy their size can be the key to winning a championship. NBA is about tall guys.

Depends. If he loses to OKC or SA, who are better teams, I wouldn't crucify him unless he plays horribly.

He's been struggling with a hamstring injury most of the series.

Not if you have ample talent infused in the roster. See: 1981 Celtics, 1989-90 Pistons

You know, that knee injury from about 5 years ago.

he's gotta shoot more. i understand it's not in his "nature" or whatever but he can be a great scorer when he forces the issue. shooting 10 times in a loss is just inexcusable and there have been plenty of possessions i've been left thinking... chris, shoot the fcking ball.

he's got the talent and the system around him to beat any team in the league but not if he refuses to use his own shotmaking to win games.

if he continues on his current championship-less path, this is how history should remember him.
