Why do people think Rose can't return to elite level but Westbrook has?

I don't get it. Sure, Westbrook didn't tear his ACL. But Rose came back from that. He tore his meniscus in his other leg this time. And that's the same injury Westbrook suffered and look at Westbrook right now. He's been amazing. He's playing at an elite level again, he's dunking. He looks great.

So why are people doubting Rose so much?

If anything I'd be more worried if I was a Thunder/Westbrook fan that he returned so quickly. Rose gets criticized for sitting out but this could prove to be the best thing he's done. If Westbrook starts having major problems again later in his career and Rose returns and is healthy thanks to taking more time off and recovering longer.

I am not saying it's impossible that he returns as a great player but the main reason the Bulls are still counting on his return is that his contract is guaranteed. If they could cut him for cap space I bet he'd be gone. As much explosion as he had he should return with an above-average level of bounce but it's always cause for concern when a guy is constantly injuring his knees.

Rose is durable and good, but Westbrook is pretty close to becoming the Shaq of PGs.

Coming back from a torn acl and meniscus is much worse than just the minsicus. Take the homer glasses off and be realistic about rose's situation

He is right. People seriously forget how good Rose was. As to his athleticsm anyone with a clue would knows that he and westbrook both have freak out of this world athleticism. When rose hit speed in his mvp yesr he looks up there with the fastest that have ever played in the league. His acceleration and change of direction was also something I believe ahead of westbrook and ss for dunks its purely opinion. Ridiculous commnet.

What we are yet to discover is if rose really will be injury plagued. There is still a chance these injuries were freak occurances, who knows if he can stay healthy but theres every chance he can. If Rose is healthy, hes too good of a player not to be a force to be reckoned with. He had barely found his feet when he did his other knee give him a chance.
