It's a business after all and the league wants Durant and company to earn them some money instead of the pennies they'll get from Memphis!

While I don't think that should've been a suspension, he did close fist slap him right in the jaw. He should've gotten a huge fine, but not a suspension.

However, it's somewhat justifiable. Relax.

My dad said this over 20 years ago. The biggest draws get the preferential treatment.

So wouldn't the Heat be pushed to 7 by the Bobcats so the NBA gets more money by LeBron being nationally televised more?

He punched a guy in the face. It's the rules. Quit being a B

This has always been obvious. 2 examples that immediately come to mind:

- Michael Jordan pokes Reggie Miller in the eyes; Reggie Miller gets ejected.
- Lakers vs Blazers 2002 WCF

What I can't figure out is...if the NBA is fixed why did last year we had a final four of Heat, Pacers, Spurs, and Grizzles? And not:

Heat
Clippers
NYC
Houston

Favors big markets but not enough to give them a title. Otherwise
teams like the Spurs could never win.

This is really bad. The NBA is without a doubt fixed. It's really just fun to watch and see if a teams good enough to overcome the cheating.

Seeing a great team beat the league's darlings is fun. The NBA will never be fair with inconsistent reffing. One game you can't touch a guy. The next game you can do whatever you want. BS.

Okay, but the NBA had the perfect opportunity to favor NYC over Pacers last year. But yet they gave the Pacers 800 more free throws, including in the elimination game 6, and that is basically when the NBA introduced Roy Hibbert's verticality nonsense.

The NBA could have had NYC vs Miami in the ECF. Lebron vs Melo for a chance to go to the Finals...

and they gave us the PACERS?!?

No because no one wants to see the Bobcats. They want the Heat to immediately play in the next round for higher ratings. The longer they keep the Heat vs Bobcats matchup, the higher the chances of star players getting injured.

It's all about maximizing potential as a business.

Look at OKC vs MEM - it's a great matchup that's why they pushed it to 7 games. But now, MEM has a legit chance of beating OKC so they had to suspend ZBo to make sure the "hot" thing right now, Durant, will continue to play.

Look at how PG didn't get suspended.

Etc. etc. etc.

it's in the nba's best interest to have miami sweep charlotte so the aging wade can rest and be ready to continue the playoff run against the better teams and thus have better series .. more profits .. they know what they're doing

If it took a guy getting suspended for lightly punching another player for you to finally reach the conclusion that the league is rigged....

Then the chances are that you're not the brightest cookie in the shed.

But then if you push the Heat-Bobcats to 7, then suddenly that would be a great match-up. How many people would turn in just to see if the Heat loses in the first round? Great ratings!

The thing about your theories is that they can never be wrong.

If the Heat plays the Hawk=NBA just wants a David vs Goliath story
If its the Heat and Pacers=Well duh, the NBA wants to teams that were headed on a collusion course all season
If its the Wizards vs the Heat=the NBA just wants the DC market, and to showcase John Wall.

If its not the Heat=the NBA doesn't want people to catch on to their rigging so they rig it to make sure the Heat aren't in it.

I will say it again, just last year we had Heat, Spurs, Pacers, and Grizzles as our final four. For what possible reason would the NBA rig it for that final four?
