At thinking this is anything remotely close to Rose's MVP season. Durant averaged 32-7-6 on 50/39/87 shooting while leading OKC to the second best record in the NBA despite not having Westbrook for 30+ games.

Durant's season is considerably better than Rose's season in 2011.

29.9 ppg on 55 TS% is getting shut down?

By this logic, LeBron's claim to fame as a 1 man army(making the 2007 Finals) was a result of him getting shut down. He averaged 25.1 ppg on 51.6 TS% in those 2007 playoffs :lol

Hell LeBron's CAREER playoff averages are 28.1 ppg 57.0 TS%. I guess if Durant putting up 30 ppg on 55 TS% is getting shut down, then LeBron has been shut down virtually his entire playoff career.

How about the fact the he averaged a high number of TOs and was virtually useless when he wasn't scoring. Or that he got carried by Reggie, Ibaka, and Westbrook for a large period of time. Or that he was constantly choking in the clutch. You should be happy the refs handed the series to OKC or else you wouldn't have been able to show your face here until next year.

Good point. Durant might've only averaged 28-30 PPG without so much babying from the refs.

And don't try and argue by saying something like "more like 24 PPG) because, over the course of an entire season, a player of Durant's caliber doesn't get enough BS/superstar calls to drop his scoring average more than maybe 2-3 points at the most.

What happened in 2011 when D-Rose took it? He choked even more than usual. He needs the MVP to have any sort of confidence. Without it, the dude collapses in epic fashion.

"LeBron choked"
