I mean he jacks up some of the most awful shots, granted he makes a fair amount of them.

It's because his 'crazy shots' aren't really crazy because they go in almost every time for him. That's how he plays and I think that's why he's not considered a chucker.

Came to post this. If they go in... it's not chucking. It's good basketball.

The reason people overate Curry that much nowadays is that when he joined the league, people didn't expect much from him. They expected him to be a role player with a decent yet not stable shot , an Eddie House style of player.
But yet , he proved everybody wrong and he managed to become a top 10/12 pg in the league which is remarkable and people should give him credit for his work. But he is not a leader, he will never be, he can't be much better player, he can't def and he is undersized. On a positive note he is consistent with his shooting and he seems motivated and that he works hard in practice.
His only chance to win a ring is if he replace wade on heat or if he joins Lakers. When you can't win a ring with Monta Goatellis is in your team , you can only do it with Kobe or Le Crab.

Thank you. You might be able to call him a chucker during some regular season game but he isn't a chucker in the postseason. If his heat check checks him then he plays smart. That's not what a chucker does

Because he makes those awful shots at the same rate as normal shooters make open shots. The percentages don't lie.
Curry probably takes the toughest 3's in the NBA and he still has the 10th best percentage on (by far) the most attempts of anyone. I think CP3 has the best balance of playmaking and shooting ability for a PG.

Bottom is Curry.

Because shots that are considered bad for most players aren't bad shots for him. Due to his extremely quick release, shots coming off movement play right into his rhythm.
