View Full Version : So Westbrook ties an NBA record and no one says anything?

He has tied Rondo for the most Game 7 triple doubles in NBA history with two(2). Both future HOF players no doubt but I don't think Westbrook gets enough credit for his play. He impacts the game whether or not his shooting stroke is working.

Funnily enough, both of his game 7 triple doubles are against Memphis.:oldlol:

There is a record for everything if you take enough time to look it up.

What an obscure stat...

So to qualify, a player must have been in a game 7 (eliminates 4/5 of the players in the league right off the bat), more than one game 7 (eliminates 3/4 of those who have even made one game 7), and be be in a position where you pretty much can have the ball all game (points, assists, rebounds basically means you have the ball almost non-stop one way or another).

Congrats I guess?

He's played in 2 game 7s in his career. In both, he's had a triple double.
So if you wanna call that useless, that's up to you. I find it a great achievement :applause:

Dude is definitely a beast.

Just look at his game collectively, he does so much positive out there once you accept mistakes and occasional tunnel vision (very Parker-esque).

Westbrook has grabbed more offensive rebounds (23) than Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan combined thus far (20) :applause:

Yes, it is useless, because 95% of the players in NBA history aren't 'eligible' for this stat.

think so? yes and no, imo. depends on the context. But the guys who can do it are typically very very good.

Jason Kidd for example had a 75-31 record when recording a triple double, not bad at all.

credit to D.J. for compiling some good stats few years ago

stop being a baby back b*tch.

dude has recorded a triple double in every game seven he's ever had. that's coming through when you need it the most.

every stat has a prerequisite, some are insanely specific but this is straight forward.

all the stat requires you to do is have a triple double in a game 7. you act like i said westbrook is the first player to have 20.39432423 points/312.432424 rebounds since *insert legendary name here* like all those ESPN stats.

No, the stat requites you to be in more than one game 7, and 95% of the players in league history has never been in more than one game 7....

So that's exactly you're doing.

Credit to Westbrook because I'm a big fan of guards getting triple doubles (I love me some Rondo, no homo).

Rondo, a future HOF'er??? He better hurry up and add to his resume' because if he never played another minute, he wouldn't sniff the HOF.

No one says anything b/c it simply isn't worth giving a shit over when considering the fact that Westbrick's high volume 38% shooting almost got OKC eliminated.

Didn't he have 10 turnovers as well? I think getting a triple double with 10 turnovers pretty much takes the gloss off it ..
