I'm also convinced Spurs would lose if you remove Parker and Manu. Heck, let's pretend they didn't have Popovich, Green, and Leonard as well. Without those 5 guys, Duncan couldn't do shit with this team.

Spurfan wants to put an inferior player with less rings ahead of the greatest player of our generation. Duncan gets credit for his mediocre rings in 05 and 07 while they take away from Kobe's 3peat rings because he wasn't "the man", when Kobe was the man against their team tbh. Yes I said mediocre. Not impressed with 22/12, sorry brahs. Give me that 01 afro Bean with 29/7/6 and 15-1 record over any Duncan ring except 03 tbh. 99 lockout ring gtfo, 07 ring with tony parker as fmvp gtfo, 05 ring with dat awful finals with Manu as the real fmvp gtfo. Kobe>Duncan, 5>4, 4-2. Lettuce proceed.

This school of thought is stupid. If winning in a lockout year is so easy, why couldn't Kobe do it? Also, Duncan never choked as bad as '04, so '05 and '07 are irrelevant (even though he didn't choke; he still anchored one of the best defenses and Larry Brown/Pop attributed the '05 win to him).

lifelong Lakers fan = fresco........ well ok since '69 or '70 about. I was shameless Knicks dude all through until Willis retired

Waiting for the last stench of Andrew Bynum foulness to waft away then we will see. My Lakers love died when he shivered Barea while down by 20 pts couple years ago. he's the lowest form of maggot.
I like Pekovic as you know. But dang it's hard to watch the Wolves they are sooooo bad

Duncan deserves a lot of credit in '99 tbh. Leading his team to a title in his second year like Larry Bird did. Probably a but unfair to dismiss it like that you're right.

The 99 lockout was directly responsible for breaking up the 3peat Bulls that had just won a ring in 98. P jax left the bulls due to the lockout

Condensed schedule absolutely murdered veteran teams

There's no Duncan-Kobe debate.

Duncan is way better, Kobe is way more popular.

Duncan is light years ahead in terms of stats, rings as the first option, MVP, FMVP

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9VugzFaIN-A/U2bLYCAec7I/AAAAAAAACy8/_sVHVefR4gw/s1600/22.jpg

and H2H (vs peers) ... Kobe is a joke in the Finals against Reggie Miller, Iverson, Rip Hamilton, Ray Allen ...

Four rings as the first option and defensive anchor, without All NBA - teammates.

only Player in NBA Playoff history to have over 500 blocks

only Player in NBA Playoff history to have over 1,800 defensive rebounds

only Player in NBA Playoff history to have over 4,500 + pt/ 2,500 + rb / 500 + blk

NBA Playoff record most defensive rebounds in a six-game series

NBA Playoff record most blocks in a six-game series

151 career playoff double-doubles, second most in NBA history only Magic has more (157)

Has the highest winning percentage out of any player of all of the 4 major sports teams in the last 17 years

15 straight seasons with 50 or more wins...

Lol why not? One of the greats. The only issue comes when arrogant Spurs fans say he's greater than Kobe. Obviously that is false and admitted by Duncan himself that he's not in the same tier.

Edit: the trolling has already started. Inevitable.

Block "records"

"Defensive rebounds"?

Wilt, Russell, and KAJ would laugh at those stats.

Tell me who Dirk and Wade called the best player of our generation please.

You want to bring up the Finals? Where Duncan wasn't the best player for more than half of them.

The lockout year highly favored the old bad ass Spurs team... the wouldnt win it all playing 82 rs games, not to mention the Lakers were completly disrupted (3 coaches?) and didnt have enough time to put it together. Just saying becuz i think it was an unfair season to Shaq, at that time he was ready to win his first ring.

Anyway TD >>>>>>> Kobe
