I personally sat down with 5 of them and they all said LeBron so you're full of shit. Rodman, in particular, was adamant about it. I just wanted some ketchup from his table and he went on this tirade about LeBron being the GOAT and Kobe being a joke.

I'll take documented or video proof of their opinions/statements over hearsay from some basement-dweller who spends all his time making GIFs.

It's pretty rude to record social interactions. I learned this from a sit down with Louis CK.

I totally agree with Pat Riley and Kevin Durant..

Kobe and MJ are 1 and 1a.

I still think MJ is probably the best player I ever seen ( been watching Hoop religiously since 1980)...But Kobe is a close 2nd.

Lebron is great also....just not better aesthetically or using eye test

I agree. They know the truth.

They know the truth that LeBron plays in the softest era in NBA history where any ticky-tack touch is a foul, which creates fake "superstars" like Harden who just bowl through defenders into the paint.

They know the truth that LeBron did something unprecedented for a GOAT candidate and teamed up with another Finals MVP winner and a third all-star, both of which had proven they could carry their own teams.

They know the truth that the Heat have had some of the easiest path to the finals/championship, with a historically sh*tty eastern conference and multiple key all-stars from opposing teams (Rose, Westbrook, Kobe, Jefferson, Rondo) being injured.

They know the truth that inspite the deck being stacked in LeBron's favor in all these ways he was still one Ray Allen legacy-saving, miracle shot from being 1-3 in the finals and having a Wilt/Peyton-like reputation of being a choker in the big game.

They know the truth that if LeBron was as good as some people would want us to think he would be going for a 4-peat right now and by far separating himself from any other GOAT candidate in the history of the game. Instead we're talking about how he barely won his 2nd ring, after the 1st * one which came in a lockout season.

Your entire post is comical. How can you talk about "getting carried" and "choking in the big game" when kobe literally shot 25% in the biggest game of the season and STILL won the championship. What else do I need to even post.

accdg to adjusted +/-, kobe impacts more than lebron esp when paired with other greats.. +10 compared to +3. Only sheeps are fooled by lebron. Same sheeps getting fooled by robertson/wilt. A confident author doesnt give a damn about the cover of his book or stats.

ofcourse career wise kobe over lebron. but once lebron and kobe both retire, obviously lebron will be the way better player.

Weird because ones career is over ones isn't. Shouldn't be ranking them against each other until they both are retired.

Bernie Nips
05-06-2014, 08:56 PM
Haha, this is ridiculous.

Barkley's ranking system is retarded. He doesn't have Magic Johnson or Larry Bird in his top 10 and says LeBron can't get higher than he already is, as if he'll never win a championship again or something?

Rodman's call was back in 2009, when LeBron had only won one MVP.

Larry Bird's was in 2012, before LeBron had won a championship.

Jordan just said "In terms of overall dominance, it's LeBron. Championship wise, it's Kobe." So basically he didn't choose one, just said Kobe won more championships than LeBron, which is true up to this point. It was also after LeBron had only won one championship.

Shaq chose Kobe after LeBron had only won one championship.

All in all, what this means is...

The comparison is pointless until both players retire.

I'm not even a LeBron stan, but this is just stoopid.

You are so mad. Kobe is my favourite player, but your arguments are retarded. You sound as retarded as the Bran fans who use 6/24 as their main argument.

Bran has 4 MVPs and is about to win his third straight FMVP. I'm ready to give Bran the nod over Kobe. Pretty much everything you said about Bran could be said for Kobe, Garnett, Duncan, Shaq, etc. Players on other teams were injured when they won it all. Role players hit big clutch shots. These players have all choked at one time or another in the playoffs. You have no real arguments. Bran is the Shaq of small forwards. There's no shame in a shorter, skinny guard being ranked slightly below an athletic freak of nature like Bran. It's beyond impressive that Kobe has accomplished what he has in his career despite being a skinny guard without Bran's advantage of being such a freak of nature and without MJ's advantage of having huge hands. Nothing short of incredible.

You can argue that Kobe's career has been more impressive and that Bran just barrells to the rim and scores lay up after lay up, but when determining the better player, you have to go with the more effective player. Bran gets those high percentage looks at the basket, and he has also become decently clutch over the past few years. This combined with him continuing to win puts him over Kobe for me.
