his rebound% has dropped every year in the regular season, as well as raw numbers.
Playoffs are slightly consistent, but he only averages 6 rebounds a game...

a dude with his athletic abilities and physical prowess should at least average 9, based on that alone, no?

calling Deandre a monster on the boards would be an understatement

I don't know.

1) Because he started playing more conservatively due to injury concerns after his aggro-style during his rookie year.

2) This year he began to leak out early to take advantage of his open-court dribbling/playmaking.

Because Jordan has improved every year and he pretty much gobbles the boards up and then Griffin is out on the break. Watch the games don't read the boxscore pal. You would never have asked this question.

-working further and further away from the rim
-shit wingspan
-playing alongside a rebounding machine
-doc emphasizing getting back on defense more than his prior coach did

jordan is grabing 15+ a game plus big baby grabbing the rest, also since he is getting doubled in the post he usually goes with jumpers outside the paint off the side backboard. when he does go in the paint it usually leads to no rebounds to be had because it is 99 percent a dunk and when his guards shoot 3's he is the one setting the screens up top.

in short he is doing his job and not trying to be a rondo type stat whore

Cause Blake is soft. He doesn't wanna bang with the bigs in the paint.

He can rebound 10+ if he wants but the Clippers want him to leak out as soon as he sees DJ is anywhere close to getting the rebound. The Clippers offense relies on Blake more to get it going than it has ever did before.

He doesn't exert much effort on the boards or defense. if he played with more energy and intensity in those two areas he could be a potential goat. there's no reason he couldn't average 12 rebounds and 2 blocks a game with his athleticism.

because he leaks out, the best fastbreak threat in the league needs to take advantage of any opportunity.
