Honestly, apart from when he was retired, Jordan could have won it every year. Really. Other guys deserved recognition for having their best years and when Hakeem won his Jordan was chillin but pretty much every year he played after (and honestly before 1990 even) 1990 he was really the MVP. The writers and everyone knew this and gave it to other guys who had spectacular seasons like Magic and Barkley etc. I mean it wasn't even close.
