I don't know, I think prime Oscar and Kareem is equal to Magic/Kareem.

Consider older Oscar/Kareem over 4 seasons:

66-16, championship
63-19, lost to Lakers in WCF
60-22, lost to Golden State first round
59-23, lost to Boston in 7 finals

Oscar was 2nd-4th leading scorer and the leading assist man on those teams. When Oscar retired, the team won 38 games.

Now replace that with a prime Oscar and you're looking at probably 3 titles in 4 years.

Oscar is underrated on ISH.

 Walton led his team to a chip, won an MVP and FMVP and made a couple of All NBA Defensive First Teams. Injuries cut short a GOAT career, he's mad underrated here.

Anyone who played their prime in the 70s (except for Kareem) is underrated here.

Tim and DRob
Shaq and Dwade
Shaq and Kobe
Bird and Walton
Big O and Kareem
Magic and Kareem
Clyde and Hakeem
DR. J and Barkley

Top to bottom tough as hell but I think I have it right. Timmy D and D Rob would simply have a ridiculous field day on every frontcourt in NBA history.

EDIT: Forgot Big O and Kareem somehow.

2) Shaq and Wade
3) Kareem and Magic
4) Duncan and Robinson
5) Kareem and Oscar
6) Dr J and Barkley
7) Bird and Walton
8) Drexler and Hakeem

No Michael and Scottie anywhere? I'd probably take peak Jordan and peak Pippen over Bird/Walton and Drexler/Hakeem, I think they deserve a mention.

The reason I didn't include MJ and Scottie or LeBron and Wade is because their primes more or less coincided with their partner's in crime, I listed players where one was in his prime and the other is either too old or too young.

Bird and Walton are probably 3 or 4. The passing would be GOAT.

In pros he had only the 77-78 seasons that were good, college I'll give him his props he was great under wooden.Injuries happen , that's life ,can't use that as an excuse.

Many would argue that Kobe entered his prime in 2001, which means a few years of his prime did coincide with peak Shaq. That 2001 playoffs run was one of the alltime great duo runs in NBA history imo.

I don't underrate 70's players , my 2nd fave player of all time is Iceman .In this makeshift list that OP out together , I put Julius in the top 5,dude was cold .i just don't care for anyone who only gave 2 seasons that are good ,injuries or not.

2001 Kobe was peak Kobe. Much better defense, less of a selfish attitude.

Good point, both Shaq and Kobe have big egos.

Wade was only in his prime for 1 year with LeBron and they were pretty dominant I'd say.

i think all duos are more or less equal in terms of value, but on the court playing as teammates, things become easy. Magic & Kareem for sure ! Hakeem and 90' Drexler would work well as well as Walton-Bird duo is interesting. Duncan-DRob duo would not be that great as it is on the paper (don't get me wrong). It would be difficult to get the best of both while playing similar roles. Same for Kobe and Shaq who never really played that well as real combo as he did with Penny but i bet kobe lovers see the things in a totally different way :oldlol:

Am I overrating TD and Robinson with putting them #1? I just don't see a way to stop them. And the defense is by far the best out of any other duo.

Robinson was scoring 30 efficent PPG in his peak(95'). And averaged 5 APG.

I mean, you give me 95' Robinson and 02' Duncan with Pop and I'd have a shot at 70+ wins.

Only flaw is, DRob was an epic choker, even in 95'........:facepalm

Could Duncan take pressure off of peak DRob and allow him to play up to par?

On a out of this world 7 pt. 7 reb., ur reaching now ..they practically felt sorry for him that year and gave him a "career achievement award".eddie Johnson lead his team at 19 and 5 per game on a playoff team , deserved it more .

There is no argument against Jordan/Pippen being the greatest duo, past present and future.

But imagine 2006 Kobe with 2000 Shaq:eek:

Kobe was better defensively in 2001, on top of the complete floor game and dynamic scoring ability. Yeah, he pretty much peaked as a scorer around 2006-2007 but there was much less emphasis on defense, except when he really made the effort against other elite perimeter players. I suppose you could make the argument that he had to expend extra effort on offense due to the makeup of the team in 2006, forcing him to pick his spots defensively and coast at times.

Honestly, as much as people rave about his 2006 season, I thought his 2003 season across the board was better.
