Nah. At least Diaw is big and strong.

Durant is literally 10 inches taller than CP3. He should have no trouble getting the ball in the mid post and just shooting over him. I was shocked that it worked to the Clippers advantage.

I love the people who say Durant is better than Kobe has ever been. The past prime Kobe that won back-to-back rings would probably be up 3-0 against these Clippers with Durant's team.

Imagine if Kobe had the luxury of having a rim protector like Ibaka who can also hit jumpers at a high clip, an explosive bench player who can take over a game in Reggie Jackson, and arguably the best PG in the league dropping multiple triple doubles in the first two rounds.

But he had Gasol and Odom, most stacked frontcourt ever!!1111!!!! Give me a break. The supporting cast that Durant has in unquestionably better than what Kobe won back-to-back rings with. And he almost lost in the first round and just blew a golden opportunity to essentially seal the deal in the second round.

the difference is the coaching. they drew no plays for him. none. and as soon as he caught the ball he was getting double teamed immediately with no one to pass it to thanks to brook's and the team's horrifically planned floor spacing.

but let's keep blaming kd for that as if he has control over it.

With how much love the media gave him for that MVP speech, it was almost like the league office mandated an OKC win today. The refereeing was below the level we should expect this deep in the playoffs, but typical of an OKC game.

i just clearly explained why he couldn't. dude had no one to pass it to. none. his teammates isolated him from them so whenver he passed it out it was a turnover. what more could he have done in that situation besides force a horrific shot?

either way, i wouldn't put too much blame on durant. when the clippers would trap the pick n roll westbrook never passed it to him (he was wide open a couple of times) and durant is way to tall to be a ball handler because players with a lower center of gravity can easily swipe it from him.

maybe if the thunder actually had a relevant coach then they could have actually ran a play down the stretch instead of westbrook iso's that happened to have resulted in points

Where does he say that Paul "regularly shuts down superstars"?

What he did say, is that unlike the other "star" pg's in the league, Paul actually guards his direct opponent or the opposing teams top scorer, unlike the other pg's who get to stand in the corner on D and hide behind Klay Thompson, Nic Batum, Kevin Durant etc etc on defense. Paul was chasing Curry around screens for 7 straight games, and STILL produced on offense, while steph only had to play offense.

If it goes that far.. I know Paul will guard Parker... but will Parker guard Paul?

Paul's man to man defense may not be amazing, but yes his ball denial and the pressure he puts on a team's offense is. You can't make any lazy or predictable passes around him, you can't beat him with ISOs alone. And Durant especially always has issues against strong off-ball pressure, his ball security is so shitty he can't even dribble against pesky defenders like Paul/Allen. 8 turnovers tonight tell the story.

Yeah, somethings not right when you're a top 2 player in the game and can't post up a player 10 inches shorter than you.

The problem is in the low post the refs give the benefit of the doubt to the smaller player. If durant caught the ball in the low post CP3 would flop on the first bump and the refs would give it to him thinking he truly was knocked down.

Similar reason to why the nets stopped posting lowry. He kept flopping and getting the call
