What does that mean? Didn't he already declare for the draft?

Shocking.

Why would he do that? Thats stupid. He doesn't wanna show off that god-like athleticism his parents gave him?

I have no idea. He's probably injured. I'm guessing.

It means he knows going to be drafted high anyway and doesn't want to risk anything.

Edit - Or like $LakerGold said he could be hiding or healing from a minor issue that is already present.

No he's saying that he has withdrawn from the draft combine, not the draft.

Draft combine is where you workout to show how you play and how athletic you are.

Not a big deal. It's pretty common for elite prospects to skip the combine.

He's a top 2 pick no matter what.

No reason to go out and shit the bed and drop to 4th or 5th, or worse, hurt himself doing some stupid drill.

I thought it was a MUST thing to do? Meh. Okay.

bballnoob1192

and according to the article its advantageous for these dudes to skip it, cuz that way they get to send their physical reports only to teams that they want to send them to. and it would delay their physicals until the draft order has been declared

We can start the Wiggins myth.

It's not like he needs to prove anything.

That's fine but if he thinks this shit is gonna work at pre-draft workouts he is mistaken. Even Kevin Durant had to workout before the draft.

only reason fans should be worried is if their team wants to draft them and the players did not choose to send them a physical. then you gotta draft at risk especially with embiid. that ***** is injury prone

it means he isn't as athletic as everyone thinks. personally, I think he is on Rudy Gay's level of athleticism.

Wiggins has a different body than Durant. He won't have trouble putting on muscles.

look what happens when the lakers are in lottery.

every prospect wants to skip the combine so they don't have to play for sh!tty teams like Buxks, 76ers or the Magic

No, it doesn't mean that at all. :oldlol:

This is just Bill Duffy being reactionary to Arn Tellem telling Parker and Embiid to skip the predraft measurements.

Bill Duffy has always been a second tier agent, getting two of his biggest stars smaller than market value contracts (Rondo and Noah). Unless he has some plan to get Wiggins to Celtics/Lakers, Wiggins skipping the measurements is pretty much inexcusable.

Wiggins is undeniably athletic. He has nothing to hide, and very little to lose. He can use the combine as a platform to solidify his spot as a top 2 pick. Right now, he along with Embiid and Parker are solidly top 5, and he runs the risk of dropping to 5th if Embiid and Parker starts killing the team workouts (which better be his plan).

It makes no sense for elite players in to do either the NFL or NBA combines.

Elite QBs always skip the throwing drills.

They are already considered elite, if they do well what do they gain? If the do poorly they could hurt their draft stock.

The combine provides a chance for mid tier guys to boost their stock.

Combine is a no-win situation for a top 3 consensus pick.

If they perform well, so what. If they perform poorly, the sky is falling.

He has...very little to lose...he along with Embiid and Parker are solidly top 5, and he runs the risk of dropping to 5th...

He has even less to gain. Wiggins ain't falling to 5th. Nobody with a brain has Wiggins below #3. He doesn't have to solidify shit.

nonstory. the top 5 picks will hold their own pro days on their own schedule in front of the nba team scouts.

It's what I was thinking too...:(

I would support a new alternative to the current draft system. It promotes losing as a good thing :coleman:

Incoming rookies lack the drive to prove they are the best these days :facepalm

^ By that, I mean rookies that are confident in their own abilities would have no fear of being discovered as frauds.
