I remember that game. I had watched less than 10 total minutes of the NBA that season because of the Sonics move. I would only watch if I changed the channel to a celtics game and Ray Allen was in the game. I kept hearing on PTi about how great the bulls celtics series was going. I decided i would tune in for that game from the start and waht a treat it was. Got me right back into watching the NBA again.

That game has always frankly pissed me off. Ray kept them in the entire game through regulation, the first OT, 2ND OT, and then they gave the last shot in the 3rd OT to Pierce after Ray hit clutch shot after clutch shot. It's also a 51 point game he had not a 50 point game, so Lebron would not have tied it regardless if he made the ft.

Damn shame Ray and the C's didnt win that game.

He was all time hot. That was my only issue back then with Ray and the C's ..he had too many stretches where even after being hot he couldnt get the ball back. He couldnt miss that game yet if I remember correctly he didnt get like 1 shot in that last overtime. Of course it was all PP Iso's to try and win the game.

Actually ray bailed them out to hit huge game tying shots but I believe the first o.t and second o.t pierce took the game winner and missed pierce is clutch so I didn't really get upset...but ray should have taken at least one of those shots...the last play pissed me off...doc let rondo try to be the hero and we all know how that worked out...for the life of me I didn't understand on that last play when you have a guy that scorching hot and you let your p.g who can't shoot for shit try to create off the dribble

Maybe im biased cause hes my favorite player but I still think even at age 38...ray could give a team 30 mins and 15pts a game. With his conditioning and skill set..he could do it.

I hear that...it was tough losing seattle man i cheered for boston because of ray but even when they won the title I didn't get the same type of jubilation if the sonics would have won...and I damn sure won't root for miami lol

if anyone has any full sonics 2005 playoff games that would be great to see again but all there seems to be is rays game 4 highlights against the kings that yr when he dropped 45

No you are wrong. Pierce took the last shots in regulation and the 1OT and missed them both. In the 2OT Ray made that ridiculous shot in the corner over Noah and then he made another 3pointer to send it to overtime off of an inboudn pass fading left. They completely went away from him in the 3OT for absolutely no reason. That series always makes me laugh because of how much Ray embarrassed Noah lol...he made that game winner over him in game 2 and that crazy shot over him in the corner in game 6...I felt so bad for Noah...not really.

Edit: actually are you right as Pierce did take those two game winners in regulation and OT and that upset me because Ray was the one going off...why wasn't he given the chance to win the game? He was the only reason the game even went to 3OT because of those huge shots he made in the 2OT.

ahh your right...I realized it after I just watched his 51 point highlights...how crazy is it that he hit that ridiculous fadeaway 2 over noah thinkin it was a 3 then come right back down three and basically like "no problem I'll make sure this is a 3" take 2 dribbles pull up and net lol

still that last play irks me the most... rondo man freakin rajon rondo tryin to fadeaway on derrick rose when you got ray allen on your team...the worst part is there was no action on the play ray was literally in a corner and everyone just stood around to watch rondo go iso

Wade came close in 2010. Weird how Allen and Wade play for the same team now.

You're right! It was Rondo who took the potential game winner in the 3OT wasn't it? I remember grabbing my head thinking...what the ****? At least give it to Ray, pierce or Garnett...but Rondo? They threw that game away. A Ray Allen 3pter with a hand in his face would have been a better shot than what Rondo did. :facepalm

The way ray was going...a Ray allen shot with the whole team in front of him would have been better then a rondo fallaway :facepalm

He's still sneaky springy too. He had a nice one-hand 180 dunk this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9hYOf6CxTc

I've watched more teams play thane ever before, but root mainly for the Nuggets after they traded Melo. They're fun to watch plus they had former Sonics George Karl. I also enjoy the Heat, Spurs and Clippers.
