Almost 4 years later and they haven't sniffed the playoffs, fired two coaches, and already have their current star unsure about wanting to stay long term. I think we can all agree that LeBron giving them 7 years was more than enough. Time to point the finger at ownership.

Cleveland ownership and the front office is absolutely terrible. Can't believe dude had to waste 7 years of his career playing for those pieces of excrement :facepalm
Fired two general mangers, fired two coaches (one of them twice in four years), and have had four lottery picks since (including two no 1. overall selections), and still can't get out of the dumpster.
Some franchises are simply meant to tread in futility, and the Cleveland Cavaliers are one of them.

imagine if lebron would have played for a franchise like the Lakers from the get go...
he would have won 5-6 titles by now especially if he had another dominant player along side him like kobe.
but then again, he wouldnt have so many butthurt haters and maybe never would have become as good as he is:bowdown:
that 2012 playoff run was hands down a top 5 archievement in the history of sports. the pressure was unreal and the odds were stacked against miami with wades decline and boshs injury:applause: :applause:

I just don't get how anyone can blame him for leaving. I get the criticism for how he did it, sure. But that franchise is a mess. 7 seasons and the best player you get is Mo Williams? How the fans can blame LeBron for any of this is beyond me. Even Minnesota, who did a horrible job themselves building around KG, eventually got Sam Cassell, Sprewell, and a few years of Marbury. Look at the best players during the LeBron era, and most of them were acquired in salary dump trades (Shaq, Mo Williams, Jamison).
Kobe had Odom/Gasol/Bynum and Phil Jackson
Pierce had Rondo-KG-Allen and Doc Rivers
Duncan had Ginobili-Parker and Pop
Nash had Amare and Marion
LeBron - had Daniel Gibson and Big Z. And than later on Mo Williams and Shaq.
One of these things isn't like the other

They were a young team but I can't really see Prime Felton and Wilson Chandler and injury prone Gallo doing anything in the east. I will be the first to admit, Felton had great chemistry with Amare... but let's be real, Amare is injury prone as f.
Prime Felton and Wilson Chandler :lol

The cavs were a mess when lebron played for them despite the record, anyone who actual keeps up with the nba should know that. when Jordan retired how long did it take the bulls to make the playoffs again? (pm me for the answer if your to dumb to know)3 years isn't even bad when the best player in the league up and leaves and the team is rebuilt from the ground up. fail troll thread.

James ruined Cavs.
What were the Cavs before he joined? Oh yeah, complete shit.
And who wants to sign for this franchise after the childish open letter Dan Gilbert for all to see?
He intended it to be directed at cavs fans but we all knew he addressed it to Lebron.
This open letter didn't help the future of this franchise.:facepalm

Because the Nuggets didn't let him walk without getting anything in return. Honestly, if Lebron walked away from the Heat right now they would struggle and Spo would be fired within 2 years.

Ownership suck, the management make terrible decisions, they need to sell the franchise to a different city, one that gives a crap about the well being of the team.

And its not like that havnt had the opportunity to get back to a competitive level. They have had two #4 picks and two #1 picks!! I mean, they have hit the jackpot in terms of getting high draft picks but they have failed to rebuild.
Its understandable for a team to go through struggles after one of the best to ever play the game left, but they have had ample opportunity to rebuild and have failed. You can blame it on poor draft but you cant ask for a much better in terms of lottery picks.

It's not just the Cavs either, the Browns are dis-functional too. Overall the whole city is terrible for sports and their fans have a negative "something bad always happens to us" mentality. If LeBron can't get talent to come there to play then who can??

The Cavs took a dump on themselves when they had cap for a star and wasted it on Larry Hughes. Now I know hindsight is 20/20 but he was their 3rd choice and they really signed him bc they felt they needed to sign someone to play with Lebron. Other than that year, they had no flexibility to sign anyone.

The more I think about it, I realize that Lebron did sacrifice a lot. Cleveland is clearly a garbage dump of a city. The cheap franchise only provided him with enough talent to barely make it out of the weak ass East, and get destroyed in the finals
Cavs fans should still be wearing Lebron jerseys, fondly reminiscing on the moment when they were almost relevant.

Cleveland sucks when it comes to sports, Cavs suck when it comes to front office decisions the last 5+ years. Pretty obvious, I think most of us agree on that? If not you're delusional. How many coaches get fired, then get rehired two years later to get fired again 1 year later? Awful. The biggest mistake the front office has made was rehiring Brown. It made no sense only to the fact that Grant and Brown were buddy-buddies back in college. The team and front office need a complete new culture.
I don't blame LeBron for leaving. I'm past that and long have been. I just don't like the way he went about it is all, to each their own.

It take a "special" franchise to fire the same coach twice within 4 years.
