PGs age more gracefully than other positions though. I think of 30 as the prime for them because that is when they still have some legs under them, but things finally start clicking mentally.

He was headed to a Magic trajectory at the beginning of his career, this series with OKC is now a must win for him.

Not CP'S case thought. His peak was 2008/2009 cause he already had his mind set but he didn't have injuries like today.
Nowadays he still very good but his body is falling apart.

That is true. I don't think a panic button needs to be pushed because he is 30 though.

To be fair to him, he never had a team that he could win with.

Great passing PGs seems to last a long time.

Nash, Kidd, Stockton were still elite till their late 30s. Even Andre Miller.

Why? He's not playing with home court advantage against a team with the league MVP. People have some weird expectation on here about what players "must" do.

Not to mention that you seem to equating team accomplishments with an individual's ability to play. Magic garnered much of his early success in the league because he came into the league playing with the league's MVP. But statistically the two of them are relatively close through the age of 29.

Also, to address the larger issue of "what he's accomplished." You might want to take a quick look at some of the top point guards all time had "accomplished" by the time they were 29. It's really a specious argument in general if you don't provide anything remotely to contextualize the argument.

I later agreed with you :), Just a shock to see that he's approaching 30.

Sometimes you forgot how old some of these players are. It seems like yesterday we were still watching them in their primes.

Sorry, those are just sticking points that annoy me when people discuss players and their legacies. And the last paragraph wasn't meant to be directed at you.

For a player of his style it's hardly old.

Lmao, Nash was 30 in his last year in Dallas. Way before he went to Phoenix and started the run & gun era. CP3 has another good 6-7 years left in him.

CP3 looks a lot more spent than Nash did.

Paul can still play the 2 and guard the bigger SGs if he commits to it. his defense is that good. That will save him some legs from having to chase around the most athletic 1s coming up in the league.

Think about it he is splitting time guarding between WB and Durant this series. thats insane.

A lot of that has to do with bigger players thinking they can/should post up and back down Paul when they're matched up with him, which has proven to be relatively in effective considering how strong Paul is. Part of being a good defender is making your opponent do something they don't necessarily want to do (or in this case, believing they have to do). The guy's barely 6 feet, just shoot over him.
