With Rose the Bulls had the best record in the league in consecutive seasons; without Rose the Bulls have been an above average team that has performed poorly in the first round in two of the last three playoffs. In one season they got to the second round after a close 7 game series with the Nets--but then promptly got routed in the second round. It is obvious the problem with the Bulls has been a lack of scoring in recent years. That is where Rose's value was.

People must not remember the atmosphere around here when Nash won his MVP's, it was not exactly unanimous support.

After Amare went down there was alot of "well if we gave it to him last season, we have to give it to him this season too" sentiments. At the time Shaq and Duncan were still for the most part perceived as leagues-best, not to mention Dirk, Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Iverson, and T-Mac.

What's interesting is Steve Nash is the only MVP in the last 30+ years to average under 35 minutes per game and under 17 ppg (could Stockton have won MVP's in the last decade I wonder?).

KD averaged 39 mpg and 32 ppg. Rose averaged 37 mpg and 25 ppg for a slooow team, the opposite of the Run-and-Gun phoenix suns.

Difference is Lebron always put up great numbers even in losing minus 2011 finals. Lebron is a much more efficient and diverse player.

No has Lebron ever lost in first round ? Has he not been to at least ECF last 6 out of last 7 seasons ? Stat padder would be Melo losing in first round every year or lesser extent KD putting up solid stats this season in playoffs but poor percentages and be carried by WB and refs minimize the numbers.
