Suns guard Archie Goodwinwas arrested outside an Arkansas skating rink earlier this month and charged with disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to arrest.

Goodwin, 19, was leaving the Arkansas Skatium, an ice and roller rink in his hometown of Little Rock, on May 4 when the incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m., according to Arkansas State Police public information officer Bill Sadler.

A state trooper witnessed Goodwin cursing and "exhibiting aggressive gestures" toward another person while exiting the building and the trooper reported telling Goodwin twice to stop cursing, Sadler said.

Goodwin was taken into custody, but the trooper said Goodwin tried to break away from the trooper's hold during the arrest, according to Sadler. Goodwin then was booked into a Sherwood, Ark., jail.

"Don't assume if you don't know the whole story," Goodwin tweeted Tuesday afternoon after an azcentral sports report. The tweet was deleted later in the afternoon.

Goodwin has a June 3 district court date regarding the charges.

Goodwin case update

Suns guard Archie Goodwin pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to arrest in an Arkansas district court. He is set for trial on July 2 in regard to a May 4 arrest outside a Little Rock skating rink.

Goodwin has been in Phoenix working out daily at US Airways Center. He participated in the draft workout's three-minute run with prospects on Friday and finished more length-of-court repetitions (28) than any of this week's 24 visiting prospects, who are all older than the 19-year-old guard.
