higher single game record
cored more in 3 quarters ( 62 ) than jordan ever scored in regulation ( 61 )
more consecutive 35 point games
more consecutive 50 point games

mvps = kobe was blacklisted by the media for rape trials
championships = kobe faced more competition to win 5 than MJ did to win 6
finals mvps = kobes 2 with zero hall of famers trumps all of mjs
dpoty = jordan wasnt even the best defender on his team for most of the time
ROTY = jordan wasnt good enough to play at age 17. kobe was
scoring champ = not an award kobe cares about. he handed it to durant 1 year
PPG = as a starter hes at 28 per game. if he never played with shaq its over 30
APG = just like his ppg. his apg takes a hit from coming out of Highschool
rpg = ditto... 1st 2 years behind jones ( an allstar )
steals = ditto
blocks = ditto
fg% = kobe shot like 3000 more threes in his career and jordan dunked more often against midgets back in the 80's
3pt% = jordan only took a small amount. all wide open seemingly. every single one of kobes is a pull up over 1-2 guys in his face. and then theres his 40 footers... his advantage should be even higher than that

Per = all the reasons listed

playoffs = ditto again

Pretty sure Kobe has more Christmas MVP's.

when lebron passes MJ in MVPs.. we'l see how much you guys value the award

its a popularity contest. jordan should have 3-4 more. kobe should have a bunch aswell

shaq = 1?

hakeem = 1?

oscar = 1?

nash......... =2

if kobe had the name jordan/lebron... he wins mvp in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2009 and maybe even 2010

imagine if roles reversed and kobe was in cleveland... the media would say " YA SURE KOBE HAS 1 MORE WIN... BUT HES IN THE LEASTERN CONFRENCE!!!!!!!!!"

lol

Angel Face
05-15-2014, 01:02 PM
mvps = kobe was blacklisted by the media for rape trials

Kobe has only one MVP because his team after Shaq left is mediocre and always in the 7th or 8th seed. It's a factor for winning MVP, that's why he won it in 2008 when he has better help and has his team in higher seed.

championships = kobe faced more competition to win 5 than MJ did to win 6

The only good team they faced in the Finals was 2004 Detroit in which he got embarrassed pretty bad and the Celtics in which he won one and lost 1. Others... Iverson led Sxers, Jason Kidd led nets, Dwight Howard led Orlando Magic. :oldlol: 2000 Indiana is decent and was carried by Shaq during their 3-peat.

finals mvps = kobes 2 with zero hall of famers trumps all of mjs

He has 2 FMVP's because Shaq has the other 3 in which he got carried.

dpoty = jordan wasnt even the best defender on his team for most of the time

If you're referring to Scottie Pippen as the best defender on their team. You fail big time. Scottie wasn't a starter back then and is a rookie. Far from Scottie that we all know.

ROTY = jordan wasnt good enough to play at age 17. kobe was

What a lame excuse.

scoring champ = not an award kobe cares about. he handed it to durant 1 year

Another lame excuse, who doesn't want an award.

PPG = as a starter hes at 28 per game. if he never played with shaq its over 30
APG = just like his ppg. his apg takes a hit from coming out of Highschool
rpg = ditto... 1st 2 years behind jones ( an allstar )

Kobe's a good player no doubt. Reminds me of MJ because of his tricks and moves that he stole, but he's no where near MJ's dominance. Move-on and stop living in lala land. MJ>Kobe.

Jordan won more rings in less years with much more individual dominance (34/6/7/2/1 in the first three-peat, 31/6/4/2/1 in the other).

Sure, Kobe had more consecutive 30 point games though.

Yeah.. its debatable. I personally dont think much seprates Lebron from Magic and Bird. Another title or two (depending on his play) and he's definitely top 5.

Far as resume and invidual impact go, the only players I can comfortably rate above LeBron are Mike, Kareem, Magic and Russell.

You're my guy, but I really disagree.

Magic, and Russell? No.

LeBron at either end of the floor has more impact than the other IMO. And I don't even think it's remotely debatable. Magic is a liability on defense, LeBron is one of the most versatile ever, a DPOY caliber player for a few seasons.

Russell is average offensively, LeBron is a one man offense. 28 ppg 7 apg for career. That's absurd.

If you had a draft pick for a modern NBA team. Who is your first choice, honestly, between: LeBron v.s. Magic v.s. Russell?

Nike Kobe IVs, Kobe VIs, and Kobe VIIIs were nice DOE. Adidas Kobe's, and all other Nike Kobe's were hideous. For the most part however they were comfortable, and performance beasts. Jordan's were a perfect blend of aesthetics, style, and function.

No sweat.. Like I said, not much separates Bron from these guys. If we're strictly talking ability (impact, skillset etc.), no player(s) save for MJ Kareem and maybe Wilt can you put above Bron.

How we rank players is a bit different though.. Gotta include everything: Rings, FMVPs, MVPs, accolades, honors.. Today, Lebron's resume just wouldn't match Russell's... or Kareem/Magic's (who both have 5 championships).

Russell is average offensively, LeBron is a one man offense. 28 ppg 7 apg for career. That's absurd.

True, but he more than made up for that defensively. Arguably the GOAT on that end.. a monster playmaker and rebounder likewise. His multiple chips, defensive honors and what would likely be a handful of FMVPs are why, when including CAREER resumes, it is difficult to leave him outta the discussion.

If you had a draft pick for a modern NBA team. Who is your first choice, honestly, between: LeBron v.s. Magic v.s. Russell?

In a draft? Knowing what I know now, LeBron. Dude is the better player.
