Why can't Patrick Ewing get a head coaching job?

Why can't Patrick Ewing get a head coaching job?
Let's see, he's interviewed with several teams over the years, what do you think would be the answer to that question? Maybe he doesn't interview well? Maybe no one thinks that he'll be a good head coach? If someone interviews for a position several times and never gets the job what does that tell you?

Should hire Sam Cassell

seems obvious that he wants someone who played for him that he can use as a figurehead, a triangle guy, even. Kind of funny. I can see why Kerr dipped. I mean, originally I would have been like... it's an honor to be looked at by Phil, but if he's trying to get Tyronn Lue. lol. It's like ok then.

My god, Luke is terrible on TWC sportsnet. I can't imagine him giving an inspired speech in the locker room, lol. Dude sounds mildly retarded just being an analyst. :wtf: :facepalm

This tweet isn't even true. They were talking about ideas and not actual candidates... These are players who are familiar with the triangle system.

Yeah can't be much steam behind this. If it is the case tho than it's obvious he's looking for somebody to control and makes perfect sense why Kerr went with Golden State.

I don't think with there roster having young rookie coaches would be smart. Need a strong veteran coach for Melo/J.R IMO. If there still around anyways.

Luke Walton will be a better coach than his dad was a player.

I doubt Phil wants anything to do with JR Smith on the Knicks.

River's loves Lue bringing him from Boston and Brooks has said Fisher would make a good coach

Sources close to the process told ESPN.com that the most likely scenario, even after Jackson was snubbed by the only candidate he has considered for the position since taking the Knicks' job in March, remains hiring a younger coach Jackson has worked with previously and can mentor.

Three candidates who will thus receive consideration from Jackson, sources said, are Luke Walton and Tyronn Lue -- former players under Jackson who have already begun their coaching careers -- as well as Oklahoma City Thunder guard Derek Fisher -- if Fisher elects to stop playing after this season as he has hinted.

Sources said Jackson also intends to explore whether the Denver Nuggets are in any way amenable to releasing Brian Shaw from his contract in exchange for some form of compensation.
